If our remaining scholarship needs require a Running Back or Defensive Line player (which I believe both are) our coaches could sell our program better if the kid and parents knew who his position coach would be.

Dorsey should take Cam and Olsen with him on the recruiting trail. He could also invite Luke considering he has spent some time in and around Boone.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 12:38 pmThat is where Roof, Drinks and a former NFL LB and QB come in.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:38 amUnderstand. Dorsey's resume alone is plenty

Andy Lutz’s twitter profile now confirms he is now the Director of Football Operations. Lutz has a ton of experience, mostly at the P5/SEC/ACC level. He was most recently at Georgia Tech. This is a much more important hire than most might know. Looks to be another great hire by Drink. GO APPS!!

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Thoughts on Coach L.Jerome Riase also at GT last year? Maybe he could be a good fit on Drink’s staff as DL coach. He has some 3-4/multiple front Defensive Scheme experience with Woody at GT and three years before at Wofford.

Not one of the 10 assistant coaches but...
Per Football Scoop...
Appalachian State: Source tells FootballScoop Louisiana Tech offensive grad assistant Kegan McDaniel has accepted an offensive analyst role at App State.

I’d be pretty surprised if the two unannounced aren’t already on campus and working with the staff. If they’re not, then my level of concern on Drinks contacts within the business rises exponentially.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I thought that too, but if they are here, why not announce it? Obviously they would be confident enough in their status to let them work on campus , so why not announce? How long does it take to tweet that out?

Healy is still filling out his staff at Charlotte (and he had a head start on Drink). Perhaps that’s the G5 norm

Healy is trying to move forward in a job that he is having to search “up” for staff.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 8:30 pmHealy is still filling out his staff at Charlotte (and he had a head start on Drink). Perhaps that’s the G5 norm
Seems like someone who comes from a semi successful (at best) fcs program would have more trouble finding fbs quality assistants than someone coming from the P5 level

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
He is obviously getting some big names whose resumes are very impressive for the jobs he is getting them to do. So far he has a former P5 coach and coordinator as DC, G5 coordinator as a position coach, and former NFL position coach as a position coach. So he clearly has a lot of names and is trying to make the best choice he can.
Not sure why any of you are worried. The staff has some big names and just the buzz alone on players we are recruiting shows that our profile has risen a good bit.
The only problem could be the fact we have so many interested in the jobs that it is taking more time due to interest for a typical SBC coaching staff.

Bigger names on App's staff for less money would be my guess.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 9:52 amJust curious what makes you say this?appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Jan 10, 2019 8:09 amLouisville may be wishing they had brought Drink on instead of Satt.....
