Coach Drink Staff Thread

Figured we should start a thread to keep all news and thoughts into one place as opposed to across two or three threads.

So far, we only know that Holt is gone to UL and Drink is interviewing other holdouts today.

Drink followed Watts, Clark, and Andrew Blaylock (Directer of Player Personnel) on Twitter, but no one else. So there's that.

FWIW. I wasn’t going to share this until now. I spoke with some S&C staff and other football staffers on Bourbon Street on Friday before the game. They all alluded to the fact that Ivey and Dale Jones would both be leaving. They said Clark would be staying and possibly Watts. Also said that multiple members of the staff told Coach Drink that Coach Gasporano was a rising star and some even recommended him to be the new DC. We shall see but that’s what I was told. GO APPS!!

Kind of surprised about Dale Jones. I guess Satt not looking for any coaches outside ASU bloodlines.

Hate Ivey gone but don’t care about Holt. We have the worst kickoff coverage of any school in America. Mixed on Jones but he is not coordinator quality. Sure they are getting good raises. Drink will put together a good staff.

Can't blame Satt for raiding the cookie jar. Hope for heavens sake this does not leave us with a lot of missed opportunities next year with all new coaches and schemes. Lets hope Drink has the mind for talented staff and brings the best out of the team. With all the talented players it would be hard to screw up but we may not recognize much of the play calling next season on either side of the ball. Hoping for a historic season, but it will be a long off season waiting to see what we have in store. Even more unknowns than we had going into this past season but look how it turned out.

I mean I’m not particularly miffed that Holts gone but the guys RBs made it an entire year without a single fumble. That’s pretty damn good. I can find a few worse kickoff coverages as well. We can certainly replace all these guys but idk if we should downplay the impact any of these guys have had on this program the last 4+ years.

I heard Satt was negotiating with the Farmer’s Wife and the girl fiddler that played “Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Somebody guard the Rock and the Tweetsie Whistle. ;)

He say anything to you about what would be going on with S&C? That’s honestly the area I’m most concerned about. Mike and his program have been a huge advantage over the years IMO.
