More worried than I should have been about something.

We're always ranked low in the Sun Belt recruiting rankings.
What we do is trust that the new coaches are going to do what the departed coaches did and recruit coachable kids who fit the system and don't worry a whole lot about how many stars they have.

Only time we ranked high in Sun Belt recruiting was our first year when we had 25+ signees. Same with GaSo.

Take a deep breath and settle down. Things will work out.
How we rank in SBC recruiting means nothing to me. Our program has proven time and time again, we get the job done with our system.

If this was last year, I would have been worried, but this year we really had pretty limited scholarships available.
Last year we signed a big and good class. We are the 3rd youngest team in the country and really have added some good guys already today.
Remember, this is just the early signing period. After the staff is assembled, we still have the chance to fill up our scholarships, or keep a couple open for potential transfers.
I think we will be ok.

It was going to be a slow year for us. How many scholarships did we have to give? 10-13?

These rankings are worthless. Look at Duck. He received one offer. ONE. Now he has developed into one of the best corners in App history. Now look at Brown. Came in highly recruited and was going to be the best QB ever at App. Now he's out after one year. It's all about evaluating talent, potential, attitude, and coaching. Not website rankings and stars.

I understand weve always been ranked low. But I guess im concerned with how our mostly brand new coaching staff will keep things going like we have in respect to developing talent

I work for one of the sites and I put 0 stock in the ratings. DJ Williams was a mid 2 star when we committed him. It took us over a month just to get someone to rate him. And he stayed there through several updates, even though he was having a great season. He picks up the Auburn offer, then two more, and he's suddenly a high three (one point from a four) and that's before he got the rest of his offers. Keep in mind he didn't get an injection of Super Soldier Serum or find out he was from another planet. It's the same kid that was a mid 2 star with only two FCS offers and App.
If you recruit to the ratings you've already lost at the G5 level. It's results on the field that matter and we're 3 time in a row Sun Belt Champs and four straight bowl winners. The stars just look pretty to some.

I look at other offers, not stars or rankings, to determine strength of a class. I see PLENTY of P5 offers for many of these signees.
Also, who flipped besides Conley?

This is the voice of reason from someone who works FOR THE RATING SITES.
Keep in mind this is exactly what the class would look like (with the exception of Conley) if the previous staff was still here. We will be OK.
I'm more worried about our defensive staff being put in place and keeping the 3-4 and our current players.

When we were fcs we lived off walk-on talent.....we took what we had and developed it. At the FBS g5 level we live off the mid level talent and the diamonds in the rough. We just have to trust the new coaching staff to refine the talent.

UNC's recruiting class was ranked 32nd in 2016, 29th in 2017 and 20th in 2018, and their coach was just fired.
New coaching staff worries are normal, but I'm sure DG assessed the whole situation. Recruiting and player development were likely high on his checklist.

if it's any consolation, I'm pretty sure Everett Withers at Texas St had some of the highest rated Sun Belt classes the last few years, and that didn't work out too well.
