All the more reason for a solid RB recruit .....that makes two including DJ.

Remember that he was moved from DB to RB. A little on the small side for a RB and with Harrington presumably coming back strong in 2019 along with Peoples and Evans he may not see much time in the offensive backfield anyway. And we have some good DB recruits coming in. Not sure what the plan for him was as far as position. I hope he is successful at his next stop.

Good luck to him. Wish him well.....but not a huge loss for us even if we shifted him back to defensive secondary due to recruiting potential there.

DJ Williams was our highest touted verbal commitment RB that supposedly is flipping to an SEC school in the 2019 class. FWIW he would have been the highest rated player we have ever got had we signed him.

Yeah he committed to Auburn. I think even if Satterfield hadn't left he was going to flip his commitment. Honestly I think we'll be fine at RB for the future anyways, that's about the last position I'm worried about lol

We've got Darrynton, Peoples, Marcus Williams Jr, and Daetrich. Can't blame the guy for transferring. He wasn't going to see the field for at least two more years and at that point his career is winding down. Good luck to the guy.

True for now maybe and barring injury/ attrition but recruiting at D1 level is about the future and balancing needs and depth for recruiting years.....it's a numbers game. We NEED one solid RB in this recruiting year!

We’re loaded at RB. Can’t blame him. DJ was never coming here once he got P5 offers.

No I can't blame him but we do need a RB recruit for this year especially considering redshirt.

Thanks. Thought you were talking to someone who was playing here already that I had missed

Considering how many schollys we have left (I think its 5 or 6 maybe with Hicks leaving), we will be okay without a RB this year. People is a freshman next year, Daetrich is a sophomore, and then two juniors in Evans and MWJ. Why not just get a stud next year that can sit behind these guys in 2020, then comes on as a freshman when Peoples is a junior. Which is exactly what People is doing with Evans this year. RB is by farrrr the deepest position on this team, and we're young. I'd almost rather not get a RB this year for the above reasons.

If Drink and Clark do as well with our stable of RB's as Drink and Ledford did with Samuels, Hines and Gallaspy (maybe Dayes, too), I won't be too worried about bringing good ones in next year.

It's ALWAYS good to have a solid RB and QB in each class but with all the young talent we have at RB right now, I think we are fine spending the remaining scholarships on OL, DL and QB. Just my opinion and I know the young OLs we have are still developing but we need to get bigger for those red zone pushes. It is very possible we could find a solid PWO to possible serve as a backup down the road.

The only thing better than a little competition is a lot of competition. - Coach Drink

Look, as stated above, we are absolutely loaded at RB, and no offense to DJ Williams, barring any injury, Cam Peoples may be better. The day Moose posted this guy as a commit a while back, I was slobbering over his high school tape. Nothing he has done in his 4 games this season has shocked me. In fact, I was sitting with a friend at the game last week and when Cam came in, I was in mid sentence talking about his breakaway speed on the edge as he broke off the long TD. The fact that this guy wasn’t heavily recruited is baffling to me. I think we are just scratching the surface with Cam, he can do a lot of things.

We talked about it earlier this season, but I see Evans being moved to more of a slot WR/H Back that can be moved around and find opportunities to get him in space. I think Cam starts with Harrington and Marcus playing as change of pace guys. I’m sure Drink is excited about this depth chart, and to quote George Costanza “I think it moved.”
