Parking Update

Athletics staff and Yosef are doing everything they can to keep us informed as things progress. Of course, building would probably be a bit easier if the rain would let up for a bit.

Everyone except the stadium lot should be okay as long as construction progresses apace.

Once the deck is up how will traffic get through the construction zone to enter and egress? We think it was hard to get out of Stadium lot before...Would love to see the plans from a birds eye view. Are they posted anywhere?

Stadium folks can request to move to any lot in the entire system. They cannot displace a current numbered parking spot donor in any of those lots. At least that's my understanding of the system.

There is supposed to be an egress that goes out behind Frank and Belk (or at least on that side of things). That is still in the works. They realize that with four new dorms in that area and the parking deck there needs to be an egress that is not Stadium Drive. The time during construction will be fun for all of us.

Really hoping they don’t displace the students from 1/2 of Raley. That’s what makes those of us that choose Raley fun.

I'm really hoping they don't displace any students from Raley, as that is prime real estate for what tailgating can look like for students at App State.

We love our library deck roof. Hoping this doesn’t change things for us.

I don't see the liberry deck changing at all. There are about 585 spots in Stadium. Provided the new deck is completed in a timely fashion and the tennis courts behind the athletic center can be turned into parking, we'll have as many spots in Champions, Bowie/Eggers, and the new deck as we had in Stadium. The top of the new deck is going to have an awesome view and is supposed to be the same height as the spaces behind Bowie/Eggers. While I'm not looking forward to the construction phase, I'm really looking forward to the finished product!

Thanks for the parking updates. Has construction on the parking deck been started? I am usually an optimistic person, but can a parking deck be built in Boone NC and ready for the first home game in <240 days? I really hope so.

Deck construction (site prep) actually started during football season. As for whether or not completion is possible ... it is Boone ... it is winter ... fingers crossed.

Parking decks are easy construction given proper site work. It can be done....not saying it will be.
