ETSU is the next game on the schedule. Not UNC. Please.
Why is this the common message board mantra? No one on this board is a player (that we know of) and no matter what any person says on this board in January, it won't affect the outcome of either (ETSU or UNC) game.
There are a great many on here that think an undefeated season is in play. Well, you can’t go 14-0 unless you go 1-0.

So us FANS can’t talk about any other game? We have to focus all of our preparation and game planning on the first game of the season?

Undefeated talk or not, the whole notion that anything said on a message board impacts even .0001% of a single play, much less a game or a season, is just silliness.

The spring game is too far out to talk about. Focus comments on finding an assistant coach and getting some offensive players (QB, RB & OL) committed on or before 6 Feb. #nothingelsematters

You can go ahead and look that far ahead, but I'm focused on beating the hell out of Tuesday, Jan. 22. I hate that day, it thinks its better than me.

I have been thinking about this. It is true that you can't go 14-0 unless you go 1-0. It is stated that we shouldn't talk about other games except ETSU because of this. However, I have found a loophole. You can't go 14-0 unless you go 3-0. Therefore, we can now talk about the UNC game without ridicule.

Does that loophole allow for us to go out on a limb and just say that we will beat the crap out of ETSU? Can we also, as old, non-playing alumni who have zero impact on any game assume that the first game is a slam dunk win so that we can possibly discuss the UNC and SC games just a bit?

I think fans can assume anything you want, and talk about anything you want. Let's just hope the team isn't doing the same. The "one game at a time" concept is to prevent the team from one of those notorious "no show" games where they lose to an inferior opponent. God help us if the ONLY game we can discuss is ETSU. I really don't think anyone was saying that. It's ALWAYS a risk to put a "W" on the schedule before the game is played though, unless you own some white out.

Regarding fan impacts on the game, I have always felt deep down that my strict adherence to game day rituals helps to create the mojo that keep App winning. Just saying...the last time I shaved on game day was the GS game in 2007 and we know what happened on that day! Never Again! :-D

Is it Football season yet?

ETSU appears to be a run first team with 2 young dynamic running backs in Quay Holmes and Jacob Saylors. Their pass defense is equally impressive with the top ranked pass defense in the Southern conference.

I'm actually glad to see ETSU making strides and fielding a legit team. At least we might get some value out of this game. I have to admit that I was concerned when we first booked this one because at that time, they were pretty pitiful.
