I really hope Jalin gets a shot and shows what he’s got during his Pro Day. I understand the need for the combine but honestly some of the stuff guys do is not a true reflection of what they can bring in their position. To me bench press doesn’t mean much for a running back. Agility, lateral movement and quick explosiveness is big. By the same token bench press is huge for a lineman while the 40 time for a 320 lb dude is useless.

WOW! Seriously? I assume it was a TE but still, that's impressive!!

Follow up...just checked the results and the best overall time in the 40 was a 4.22 and it wasn't an OL. I'm thinking you saw the overall grade and thought it was the 40 time.

I went back and looked, it was 4.41 for a dlineman. Musta dreamed the 4.2. Gotta recheck my meds.

But seems to that a strong bench press is an indication of blocking strength along with squats

No problem. I went and checked also and wasn't sure where it came from. I edited my post above but my theory is that you might have seen an overall grade and misinterpreted. No harm. I was excited for a minute. LOL

Saquon Barkley and Nick Chubb were first with 29 reps in last year’s combine. They also ran very well, so I’m eager to see what numbers Jalin puts up in his pro day.

Jalin finished one ahead of Elijah Holyfield (Georgia - son of Evander Holyfield). That's pretty amazing to me.

Though Holyfield apparently had a lackluster combine otherwise.
