I recall Appalachian attempting a JET offense early in Satt’s tenure. It was scrapped. Sorta like that 2pc/PAT walk-in-from-the-sideline-presnap thing. A new HC trying something that intrigued him, but changing tunes when it was less practical than expected.

Hopefully that was just a Satt inadequacy and Drink can insert that style effectively.

Uptempo. I want it so fast that I can't even keep up!
I would expect the tempo to pick up later in the season. The speed at which we go will be predicated on how comfortable everyone is with the playcalling and execution.
On the other end of the seesaw will be our defense sucking too much air, if we get too fast.

Our defense bailed us out at times last season, need to keep them in the equation if we are to be successful.

I am looking forward to good competitive games that we finally win against our P5 opponents and dominating wins against our conference mates and the other G5 and FCS teams we play. It has been far too long since we got a win against a P5 program and I am tired of coming up short time and time again. I feel this is the year we get over the hump and get another one .

Agree. Everybody in college can score these days. Our defense has been our differentiator.

If you want us to go to a lightning tempo, that's fine - just don't complain that we "can't stop anybody" when we're winning (or losing) 49-42.

Anybody know why the Troy game was moved to Friday night, the 29th? I'm guessing television and it's probably good thing giving us an extra day before (hopefully...no probably) hosting the Sun Belt Conference Championship game even though we have one less day to get ready for Troy.

Didn't even hear about it until you posted about it.
Here's the announcement for those who also didn't hear: https://appstatesports.com/news/2019/4/ ... hange.aspx

Doesn't really say why, but I think you're correct, it'll be a TV deal.

How about doing the rest of us a favor and not doing the bolded part.
Nope, gotta do it! Our friends hosted us last year in Charlotte and it was a good time. Now we are gonna return the favor and show them how we do it in Boone.

I actually enjoy having opposing fans (especially when they are friends) there during a game. It an be really fun to have that "back and forth" when it is done in the spirit of sportsmanship and basic consideration.

I'm kind of thinking Boroneer10 was joking....at least mostly. LOL

Since I'll be parking somewhere other than where I've parked for years, I'm looking forward to tailgating with App family I haven't met yet. I'll be interested to see where I end up.

I'm always looking forward to football season. I'm all set (tickets ordered, reservations made) to make all six home games plus, Ga State, Chapel Hill, Columbia, and Troy ... plus the conference championship and bowl game.

Now that tax season is (mostly) over, it's time to endure "waiting for football" season.
