I agree, that’s what it would seem to be, however, if you follow DG on Twitter, he uses the #MakeAnImpact on almost all of his tweets. especially when announcing wins for teams, so that does muddy the waters some.

I would like for the tease to be for a soon to be made announcement of a donation large enough to name and to fund at least 50% of the athletic facilities needs at the 105 South Campus.... (1)T&F (2) Softball. Those two programs are presently in need of a permanent home to boost their recruiting. Their current facilities are both inadequate and are slowing progress of other projects. We need simultaneous development at multiple sites. That requires $$,$$$,$$$.

Such consistently poor handling of teasers and "big announcements" of announcements that aren't so big make me wonder if we have some sort of disconnect inside the athletics department. I'll trust that our entire athletics communication team is smart enough to know the who/what/when/where's of teasers, especially since the advent of social media and the explosion of a 24/7 news cycle, a news cycle where the attention span of the public is equivalent to about the amount of time it takes to eat a potato chip. So, that makes me wonder if something is getting lost in translation somewhere - the COMS team knows something good is coming but the timing and magnitude always make me wonder how much they really know. I trust DG and everyone in the dept. under his guidance but I just can't seem to wrap my head around how bad we botch these things...doesn't make any sense compared to the way we operate the dept. as a whole.

Go back and look at his twitter account from the last 30 days. If #makeanimpact is used less than 50 times, it hasn't been used at all. And none of them deal with donations
