Duck won’t get drafted. He really needed to put up crazy numbers at Pro Day to boost his stock, that didn’t happened. Like I said, he bulked up ALOT, and that helped him look a little better in stature. Exford is the one who did a lot to boost his stock on Pro Day. He looked and played the part. His size and measurables tied in with his performance at Pro Day really benefitted him. I know Duck really wants this, but he is just going to hope for that camp invite and give it all he has. He has the gravitas to put on a show, and I hope he does,
At this point, is Duck even going to get a camp invite? There is no AAF to go to if it doesn't pan out this summer. I was certain Cox would get a chance but an invite to Rookie Camp is a far cry from getting signed on. I have a feeling the Rookie Camp is his most likely destination.

Duck certainly does have the "it" factor & will excel big time if used correctly. He's leaving as a Junior so he could always come back and finish his degree. Just needs to make sure he manages well while playing in the NFL/CFL/whatever league. I'm glad he scored well on the Wonderlic test. Shows he's a smart kid who's got swagger & an attitude but can be very useful.

Colts will probably draft him as a project in the 7th round. But it'd be awesome if the Panthers decide to get him first. After all, he IS a local and Appalachian has become a whole lot more well known throughout the South since we've moved into the FBS.
No shot the Colts draft him. My buddy said the Colts and a few others teams like Hayes more than Duck.
That's true. Apparently, Hayes drew the attention from alot more scouts than i expected:

Both will probably be a PFA but Hayes is liked more by some people than Duck is. Hayes has gotten a lot of interest. My friend told me there are some who have Hayes on their draft board.

Sort of like the interest in AJ Howard surprised me last season. I expected Collins (year prior) and Gossett to attract more attention than they did but apparently NFL teams are liking what they have seen in the App State secondary.
Gossett was the one I expected to have the best shot. Never saw the others getting drafted. He was a very good one. Howard was solid and I expected him to get a shot but was a little surprised he latched on somewhere when Cardinals cut him. I thought he would be in the AAF but glad to see he could stick in NE. Figured he ends up in XFL or something after training camp this year. I won't complain about any of our guys lasting longer than expected because I would love to see them all live out that dream. I would think one of these rookies takes his spot in camp but hopefully not.

I think Duck gets a contract. He may get cut in the first wave but someone will take him. His workout was not bad. It just wasn't what he needed to get drafted. He could end up in the XFL.

I did not know what they listed back then but usually those times are a bit fast at that point and those kids improve their speed in college. If they said 4.71 then he either had very bad training or he was more like a 4.80 or so in high school. Official times around 4.70 at pro day is slower than I expected but some guys just don't test as well as they play.

From the mock drafts I'm seeing, I've only seen Jalin Moore as getting drafted in the 6th or 7th round.

Sounds about right. I mean I would think 5th round if not for the injury but pro day did not help him. He would be good value in round 7.

Good luck, Duck. The App Nation is in your corner! I hope he gets a shot and surprises everybody....again!

I apologize if this has already been brought up, but I just find it amazing that Jalin was the lowest rated player of the 2014 class at App per 247 at 1 star (.6997) and now he's looking at a legitimate chance to get drafted. He was the 225th ranked running back in the 2014 class out of high school, now he's a top 32 RB in this draft class. He's had 30 team visits with 5 different teams heading into the draft...Panthers, Saints, Chiefs, Bears, and Texans. I kind of hope he doesn't go to the Panthers because I don't want to have to start watching them again.

Wall Street Journal article today about the 'non-traditional' sized players making an impact in the league with the increase in spread type offenses. Was obviously written for Kyler Murray but translates well for Duck. I don't know how to link or post it, i'm sure you guys can source it out though. I think he has a chance, hope he makes the best of it.

He has no chance. He’s tiny and is not particularly fast. I wish him the best but let’s be honest with one another

He will get an invite to a camp. Who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Pound for pound, he hits like a truck. Just don't know that his skills translate to the NFL for any more than a practice squad player.

I don’t know how the draft is going to pan out but if things break well for our crew, I hope the people who have been trashing them for the last few months will have the cojones to admit they were wrong.
