UNC-C buying tix on Hill?

I’m sure there is a reasonable answer to this question, so here goes: Saw an ad where next week UNC-C is offering their season ticket holders up to 4 tickets to our game in either the reserved section OR on the grassy hill. Are the hill tickets considered part of their allottment or in addition to it?

We need our best Gonzo on this.

Hill tickets are general admission so I assume they would be pretty easy to get. Maybe they asked for more tickets and we worked out a deal.

I don't think it matters as their few hundred fans are unlikely to fill up their allotment, or make a dent in the general admission.

Onus will be on App Nation to fill the stadium up, just like we did at UNCC

I disagree. I think the Niner fans are delusional enough that they will still be optimistic. They have an easy game before this one and the fact that it is App will bring a few out. I don't know what their allotment is but they might actually have greater numbers than you think.

There is nothing like another beat down to help them see the light. I am looking forward to it and believe Drink will keep the pedal down for 60 mins and see how they feel after that.

If they bring their home game average (actual not reported) they won't even sell out their allotment.

The reason we were able to buy up all their tickets last year, take over their campus, and even evict their students from their student tailgate lot, is precisely the reason they'll never be able to flip the script and do it to us: they don't have very many fans.

I'm looking forward to showing the few that make the trip what a healthy football culture looks like.

Oh, I am very much aware that they will never be able to flip the script. I wasn't even suggesting that. I'm just saying they could bring more than a few hundred.

Come on up, Nugget. You'll be treated well at the game. Except for you score, I hope you and yours have a great day in Boone. :-)

I have heard good stories about fan interactions from visiting fanbases about Boone almost exclusively. The lone exceptions are Stink fans and most of those stories are very old. Poll the Sun Belt BBS guys if you want. We have a good reputation. You’ll be fine, bro.

I didn't take into account this will be their super bowl. But still don't think there will be enough UNCC fans to move the needle either way.

For our niner friends that read this board, it will be a great time. I'm sure you will be treated just as great as our little birthday party group was last year in Charlotte (although App fans outnumbered UNCC fans 10 to 1 in our parking lot). Really, your fans were great.

We didn't see any of the roving bands of Niner hooligan diehards that pick fights with opposing fans we were warned about by some UNCC fan LOL.

I had a good time in Charlotte last year. Of course I live in the area and work here in uptown Charlotte. I know some of the App fans like to be super dismissive of the Niners, and it sounds like I'm one of those in my above post (the "delusional" comment) but that comment was really pointed at a specific segment that thinks things are going to reverse in one year. Most don't believe that. All that being said, I expect this to actually be a pretty good game. Charlotte is going to have this game circled on their calendar. Hopefully App isn't looking past it to UNC. Just remember that they actually moved the ball pretty well between the 20's last year. They have a solid QB and a great kicker. They defended our running game very well, which is what resulted in Zach having another break out passing game. Charlotte isn't Gardner Webb, so let's show up in play the game. It should be a great day in Boone!

Did things change on ticket sales? Use to be all reserved seats had to be sold before they would allow gen adm tickets.

I will be in The Rich for six Saturdays, so giving up more for away games limits some of the other things I like to do in the beautiful fall weather. However, I would like to see "what a healthy football culture looks like". So App or Clemson?

You're getting 60+ hung on your team in both places, so I guess it really doesn't matter...

Assuming you've been to both in your life?

Clemson is a great place to watch a game no doubt, but a trip to Boone in early September if you live in Charlotte (as I do) is the perfect reprieve from the humidity.

Tickets are cheaper, score should be closer.

I'd come up Friday night, go for a hike Saturday AM, tailgate with a App friend in an alumni lot, and make reservations at a restaurant in the high country that evening.

Simple choice.

Personally, I hope both the ETSU and UNCC games are sellouts. That’s good for our program financially and good optics in Kidd Brewer (not to mention, it strengthens my argument for regional conferences that don’t cross half the USA). I’m very high on ASU Football in 2019, but I do think the Niners improved defensively as the season wore on last year and think they will be a better team than last year. I even think that they will go 6-4, outside of losses to us and Clemson and will become bowl eligible for the first time next season. C-USA is weak and they were competitive in conference last year.

UNCC is charging $50 for reserved and $40 for the hill for our game. Are they marking up tickets on their end or is that going to be the pricing for this one?

Season tickets at $210 could be more of a bargain than in years past.
