SBC OOC Schedules

Hard to disagree with our position here, NC and SC have a lot of questions. I think both will be better than expected and in hindsight our schedule will be the 4th or 5th toughest in conference. However this description is inaccurate in reference to non-P5 games and missing context for P5 games:

"Mountaineers have struggled against programs outside the conference particularly in the Power 5."

Since 2015:

OOC G5 record - 9-1
FCS 3-0

Come within the last drive or taken to OT Penn State, UTk, and Wake.

Blowout losses were to CFB playoff participants UGA and Clemson, and a top 25 Miami team.

Yeah, that quote is definitely inaccurate.

Yea don’t agree at all. You really have to be as objective as you can.
1.GASO - P5 P5
2. ULM - P5 P5
3. APP - P5 P5
4. SOAL - P5 G5
The rest you can argue about.

Totally agree with Saint. Let me further this analysis.
Struggled?

1) We have basically rolled all our FCS and G5 OOC opponents with the exception of UMASS which we barely lost. That is the only one we should have won and didn't. Even at that it was not really a bad loss as UMASS was doing some good things as that year progressed.

2) Against P5s I ask, which of these games were we favored in? None. What is the expectation when you are NOT favored? We got beat handily by the two CFP teams which was totally expected and the same fate as most of their P5 opponents those years. Miami spanked us and we should have done better but they were top 25 and we were not favored in that game. This is really our only bad loss against the P5s based on our performance and score, not based on the fact that we lost. We were extremely competitive against PSU, UT and Wake. We over performed against PSU and UT by ALL analyst's predictions. Most would have placed the Wake game as a toss up at best and it came down to the wire. How can you say we struggled when we did better than expected the majority of the time?

"Struggled" is totally wrong.

Thought the whole point of this discussion was/is who has a tougher OOC schedule...... not what the dynamics of of how each team played.
