Ok I should look at his stats before opening my mouth. His brother is at UNCC....that puts them in the mix
He goes there...he will witness the ass beating we lay on them September 7th, then start making plans to graduate transfer to App.

2 schools already and has only burned 1 year of eligibility. Sounds like he's not very good and just bounces around looks for a place that'll play him.
He played in 11 games at Tech and 10 at Indiana.

2018 (Sophomore): Played in 10 games with one start (Maryland) on the weak-side ... collected 39 tackles, 30 solo, one sack and four tackles for loss ... recorded his first sack as a Hoosier with four solo stops in the Ball State win (9/15) ... made eight tackles, six solo, with one for loss at No. 3 Ohio State (10/6) ... delivered a game- and career-high 10 stops and eight solos in addition to one TFL in the Maryland victory (11/10) ... enrolled in spring classes and participated in practice.

2017 (Freshman): Attended Georgia Tech and played in all 11 games ... totaled 17 tackles with a pair of sacks and one quarterback hurry ... posted a season-high six stops, four solo, at Duke (11/18) ... collected both sacks in the Jacksonville State win (9/9) ... carded five multi-tackle games.

Prep/Personal: Linebacker and running back for head coach Jess Simpson at Buford High School ... two-time first team all-state and all-county selection ... Buford reached four state championship games during his career and won twice (2013, 2014) ... made 94 tackles, four sacks, seven for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and seven hurries as a senior ... added 459 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns ... parents are Pam and Ted Roof ... Ted owns 32 years of collegiate coaching experience and is currently the associate head coach, co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at North Carolina State University ... T.D.’s twin brother, Mic, is a quarterback at the University of Charlotte ... public financial management major ... born on Oct. 6, 1998.
Yeah...The article itself has incorrect information. Which raises the question, would he be eligible next year?
Even if he can't play next year, he would add experience and depth to 2020 since we will lose, Cook and Charles after this year.

Not that I put a great deal of stock in stars and ratings but I went back and looked at his 24/7 profile. He was a 3 star with a .8367 composite rating. Had we had signed him out of high school, that rating would put him in the top 10 of highest rated players.

The only thing we could hold against him is that he thought Indiana football would be a good landing spot.

If the article is wrong, is he even in the transfer portal?

Also says he has 3 years eligibility. Don’t see how that is possible with as much as he has played in 2 different seasons

His HS tape looks pretty good to me. Very fast to ball & the point of attack. If he decides to come here, let’s see where he stacks up. I trust Drink & Roof know the issues that can follow a father son duo. All that aside, TD Roof looks like a baller on tape. GO APPS!!

Roof was the only hire on this staff that I was disappointed with and I believe many share my feelings about that. He's already going to be the most scrutinized assistant on the staff. We already have 6 or 7 capable linebackers on the roster. If Roof brings his son in and his son takes a spot from one of those 6 or 7, that is going to eff a lot of shiz up in the locker room. All those 6 or 7 are already sophomores through seniors with playing time under their belt and probably aren't going to like going backwards to RS.
I was against the Roof hire as I thought it was Drink bringing a buddy from NC State, but I've heard good things about him so far, so I'm hopeful.

That's every scenario in the transfer portal. The numbers are ridiculous, in the thousands. Good or bad, like it or not, we are in the new age of unfettered free agency of college football.

Not that it has anything to do with our future success, but wonder what Louisville fans thought of SS hiring his drinking buddies with no P5 experience at all?

To be sure Roof is good enough for G5 APP?

Louisville was desperate.....They woulda welcomed ASU66 as an assistant....or me even.

My post was a weak play on Drinkwitz's name..............

I'm all about having as much talent as possible, but there is a part of me also that doesn't like the father/son thing on a team. There's always the potential of it undermining team cohesion and causing resentments if the son winds up starting. I'm sure Roof would handle the situation with integrity but it's a risk.
Go watch the tape. I'm not sure where he would fit in on the App roster but he can play. Seems like he could be a box safety, ILB, or OLB in this defense and that kind of flexibility is what App strives for. I'd imagine, based on listening to Roof and Drinkwitz, that nothing will be handed to any player, coaches son or not.

Speaking of bad transferring decisions, will Meadors be eligible at Illinois this year or is he done?

It was a bad idea to go to Illinois and get a graduate degree?

Are you saying he went solely for his graduate degree and football was only the means to pay for it? Hypothetically speaking based on naivety, no it was not a bad idea.
