If you're 5'10" or taller you will have a leg room issue with these.

No problem with leg room if you stand all game.
No need for backing, just a cushioned seat during commercials ;-)

I wonder if it would work with just the seat portion, sans back?

My wife and I flirted with going upstairs where the seats are super comfy (and expensive), but the atmosphere up there is not what we want. I don't know how anyone my age can sit and watch an entire game. No standing up and cheering? I don't go to the games to be seen We have friends who have several seats up there and we went up as guests with them a few times. We still tailgate with them but politely decline their offer to take to elevator to our seats.

All that being said, all I take in is a cushion anyway. I would value the "placeholder" more than the butt padding.

Had the exact same experience. The game was secondary. I’ll sit in the rain on a hard seat.

Memory foam cushion this past year.Money well spent , although I stand the vast majority of the game.

I’ll have to look into one of those.
