It's too bad that he is going to be benched for DBG when he gets to campus in the fall. : )

Re: ZT rated in tier 3 of QBs
I'm not sure it's accurate to say he's ranked "ahead" of those guys. I guess he is, but it's a function of him being established in his role whereas Hurts, Bryant, etc. are transfers so they are looking for a second chance. It's a grouping exercise with the overall "ranking" only being in a very general way....but still it's great to see ZT getting some very good press! Thanks for posting.

All the preseason BS, is just that, talking heads trying to find something to talk about in the off-season. Is ZT better than jalen hurt and kelly Bryant? Maybe not, but in this particular article, they have him above those guys

I think some of these groupings are based on scenario. The group with Hurts and Bryant are transfers.

In Drink’s offense (barring injuries) he should be tier2 by mid year! I believe that this offense is going to be like nothing we’ve ever seen in Boone. This coach is like nothing we’ve ever had in Boone before, either. Every team we face should be scared of getting blown out by halftime. What Satt built, Eli is going to exploit. This should be the team that we talk about for years. I can’t wait for the season to start. It’s great to be a Mountaineer!

Totally agree. Satt never really cut Zac loose other than the second half of Penn State game. We saw how he could take over a game that night with his arm but Satt always preferred to control the game through running when he could which was basically every other opponent.Apple@chin1 wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 7:55 pmIn Drink’s offense (barring injuries) he should be tier2 by mid year! Drink does not run his offense that way. His style is to let the QB take it to the defense. ZT’s numbers are going to be huge this year.

Re: ZT rated in tier 3 of QBs
Let’s just say that I’m thankful that we have such a fantastic defense to give our offense an opportunity to truly master Drink’s vision. But, once they do...holy hell, watch this team buzzsaw through their schedule. I’m not guaranteeing wins at either Carolina. But, if things go the way that I believe they will, we should set records that could last decades with this offense running a more pass centric philosophy, and every game will be over by the beginning of the 4th quarter (barring serious injuries to any of our key players). I truly believe that we are that good. I don’t put a NY6 out of range if we can start hitting on all cylinders early and get a little help from higher ranked teams losing. This should be a “don’t blink” offense that can scorch anyone at anytime. 2019 and beyond is gonna be fun to watch! It’s great to be a Mountaineer!

First week of the season, not Training Camp. Get it right or say nothing at all.

To be fair, it is hard to keep it straight with all of the backpedaling that you do.

LOL. When someone says something that crazy they are going to get it forever.
Seriously though, I think ZT is a little too low. Not saying he is elite but I would think he is between 15-25 and they have him in the 30s overall it appears.

Re: ZT rated in tier 3 of QBs
ZT and the WRs will be the "go to" in order to take control of the games this year. That's the assumption that most everyone is making. That's going to be very fun to watch. It's probably hard to rate Zac above some QBs because of our style last year. Early in the season last year, he was rated super high, but his dropped on the statistical lists as our running game progressed. For his sake, I'd love to see him get those ratings, but for App's sake, I just want to find the "sweet spot" that keeps that ball moving and scores points.
If I had to guess, I would say that our top RBs will wind up having almost as many total yards at the end of the season as we had last year. The difference will be those yards will come later in the games and the yards per carry will be higher. That's how I'm seeing (hoping) things work out.
There are so many things about this season that have me really excited. I can't wait to see how things work out. 98 days to go. Ugh!!!!
