Off subject but on the topic of Eric Church I see a lot of folks say, “I’m not a country guy”, so I don’t really care about Eric Church. If you love music and your not listening to EC because you don’t like country your missing out. EC defiantly has some country songs but a whole lot of his new music simply doesn’t fit in any category. He works with and is a fabulous song writer. Many of his song lyrics paint vivid pictures. These are a few of my favorites, Mistress named music, Kill a word, Hippie radio, Three year old, Chattanooga Lucy and That’s damn rock and roll. Again, if you like good music don’t let yourself be turned off by the “ country” thing.
Good lyrics alone does not push the needle for me in regards to good music. I haven't given him a chance, yet, so maybe I will. But if it is a lot of steel guitar, drums, bass guitar and a synthesizer, it probably won't do it for me. If I'm looking for good lyrics and a beat, give me Dre or Ice Cube.
It’s not going to be hip hop or rap. He does have a song called home boy. It more a mix of blues, rock, country, gospel, Americana and even Motown

I spoke with Eric today. He was pretty upset with some of your comments. He told me, and I quote:
"Doc Watson, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Kruger Brothers, The Roan Mountain Hilltoppers, Acoustic Syndicate, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise are all great representatives of Boone that actually created good music and not the faux pop country bull feces I polluted the airwaves with. I apologize for making millions when I could have made actual good music. Go heels, beat the 'Neers!"

Love me some Tom Petty and I don’t disagree, “most”, modern day country is pretty bad. I don’t listen to much country but EC puts out some good music. Just read the lyrics to any of the songs I mentioned above.
Too many people don’t like current country music because it isn’t like “old” country music, but Willie Nelson, who is considered “old” country music says “if it’s good music, play it” meaning don’t hate good music because it doesn’t fit into a certain genre. I feel Eric Church would be in this category. Kinda country, kinda rock and roll and mixes of other genres. I do like his music overall

Happens all the time. Stephen Curry's a die-hard Panthers fan & was caught cheering for the Eagles @ SB 52. Chris Kelly from Rock 92 is App State Alumni but cheers for UNC all the time. Besides, if you're offered a large sum of money to take a selfie with a coach, I'd do it.
Luke Combs is better anyway, talent & school spirit wise.

Difference is, Chris has never professed love for App that I have heard.

I want to like Curry, considering he is a fellow Charlottean and his dad was a special part of my youth hornets fandom...... but man, I really can’t stand the Warriors and I hope Toronto whoops that @$$. I don’t know of any other athlete that has plummeted out of my favor faster than Steph Curry. Klay plummeted too after his eye roll about a Kemba Walker making Second Team All NBA. Sorry Klay, Kemba WAS better than you this year and carried the Hornets further than you would have in the same position. Warriors are a bunch of premodannas,,,,.

True dat. He can't even pronounce "Apple-Latch-En" correctly on the radio.

How can you be a country singer and not pronounce Appuhlatchun correctly, even if you're talking about the mountains? Is he a Yankee?
