So, typical offseason thread. A big trend recently has been talking about your sports “unpopular” opinions which is exactly what it sounds like. An opinion you have and believe but most people may not.

So again if someone says something you vehemently disagree with don’t be like “WTF ARE YOU TALKING YOU IDIOT” because that’s kind of the point of this thread.

For example, saying “Armanti Edwards is the best player in program history” probably isn’t much of an unpopular opinion. Saying “Zac Thomas offers more as a QB than Armanti,” however, would be.

I’ll start with this:

I’d rather start an in-state rivalry with and play a yearly game against ECU than I would Wake Forest.

Ruiz Jr. defeated AJ because he is more talented and fights from the heart.

Houston Fancher was the greatest coach in App State history.

Georgia Southern fans are alright with me.

There should be less parking in Boone.

Am I doing this right?

We should have waited on the new North End Zone project until all the new facilities at the old WHS were lined up, especially soccer and track and field. It's irresponsible to leave our most successful programs in App Athletics without a home for at least two seasons all because some types didn't like looking at the track while sitting in the stadium six times a year before leaving at halftime to go to Dan'l Boone Inn.

I miss Coach Working.

My honest opinion but stadium cups are a little overrated.

The “Big Announcement” was marketing genius! It had the fan base captivated for days.

It’s fine to cheer for both App and whatever “big school” you grew up cheering for.

(This isn’t actually unpopular among people I know IRL but obviously is on the internet.)

Also:

We shouldn’t look to significantly expand KBS seating until demand *regularly* warrants it.

Football conference titles aren’t that big a deal (unless they guarantee a NY6 bid).

Hiring Buzz the second time was a good move.

Playing one FCS team per season is good, and the weaker the better. There is no benefit in trying to schedule former SoCon rivals or strong programs like Montana or NDSU.

I don’t really care about the track, and I hope the hill remains lawn seating forever.

The white block A was great in its time, but I no longer want to see it come back on our football unis.

Selling beer during games would lead to the biggest shit show because people don't already drink alcohol during games.

I'll break from the direction of the thread. The only reason it is gone is because it looked high schoolish. We have gained very little by it's removal.

I need more piped in music and less band

I prefer to have my soda heated and I’d like to see all the ice machines removed from the stadium.

1. The North End Zone mockups we've seen look ugly. The "modern" exterior design looks bad now, will look especially dated later, and should be scrapped for something more classic. Whatever they build will probably be there until after we're all dead, so they had better get it right.

2. A lot of App State apparel is poorly-designed. Many designs try to cram too much stuff on the front and back. Less is more.

3. Learn the words to the Alma Mater and sing the damn song.
