Did last years family game sell out in 30 minutes?DaphneUrquhart wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:26 amBefore we spend too much time and energy congratulating ourselves on the sellout, let's remember that it's their family weekend as well. Family weekend at any school, including App, is usually a big draw for parents who want to check in on their students and have a fun fall weekend. I'm sure we'll have plenty of fans there. I'm also sure there will be plenty of Carolina parents and families in attendance.

It didn’t sell out at all, actually. UNC’s 2018 Family Weekend was against Pitt and had an announced attendance of 44k (out of 51k).Saint3333 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:46 amDid last years family game sell out in 30 minutes?DaphneUrquhart wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:26 amBefore we spend too much time and energy congratulating ourselves on the sellout, let's remember that it's their family weekend as well. That is an extremely conservative estimate, IMO. I bet we end up with close to 50/50, especially if they pick up a few early losses to USC and WFAppftw wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:49 amIt didn’t sell out at all, actually. I don’t expect us to outnumber their fans, but if we have less than 10k there I will be shocked. Personally, I’m hoping for 15k.
I had some friends who went to that one, and as we were at another outdoor activity that morning, I remember that it was a pretty brutally hot day. That definitely kept some fans home and caused others to leave early.sixtoes9134 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:54 amI have a kid at UNC and went to family weekend last year. It was horribly attended. Picture above might even be last year's family weekend. That said, there will be plenty of tickets available you will just need to look for them. Craigslist, Stubhub, etc. scalp at gate, etc.
I’ve been to several family weekends at UNC over the years unfortunately, no they’re not usually well attended. Parents go to town but not the football game. Congratulate away App fans.DaphneUrquhart wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:26 amBefore we spend too much time and energy congratulating ourselves on the sellout, let's remember that it's their family weekend as well. Having had a daughter graduate from UNC I can testify to Daphne's comments...DaphneUrquhart wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:26 amBefore we spend too much time and energy congratulating ourselves on the sellout, let's remember that it's their family weekend as well.
