Its not like bringing alcohol into the stadium would be new just because of this, its been happening for decades. There's always been that drunk student waving his flask around in the crowd to be seen by security...

Re: Beer/Wine
Just my opinion but I really don't think selling beer at the concessions will change the likelihood of public drunkenness. The folks who are likely to be a "problem" in this area are generally not going to be the ones buying it at the concessions. Those are the ones already smuggling liquor into the games. I'm not saying this to condone anything. I'm just saying the concession sales probably won't cause a significant shift.

I've been going to App games since I was a freshman in 1984. I've smuggled in my fair share of "minis". I'd much prefer to simply buy a beer on the way to my seat.

Re: Beer/Wine
This is great news for those that enjoy a nice cold beer while watching a sport event. For me personally I don't drink beer unless I'm shotgunning it, so I will continue to pre-game hard and bring a few airplane bottles for when the buzz dies down.
It will bring the university money. That's never a bad thing.

Well I won’t drink too many beers in the stadium or I’ll spend all my time running to the restroom and miss the game.

Re: Beer/Wine
That might have something to do with where you sit in both stadiums. Every time I've been to a Panthers game (about one a year), I've seen incidents. I've also seen more fights at Panthers stadium. For the most part, I view the NFL experience as a bar, where a football game happens to be going on. (Look at the Club Seats at the start of the third quarter every game.) . That is part of the reason, I don't spend money on tickets. College football has a superior game experience.Gonzo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 1:36 pmI have season tickets to both teams and I’ve seen far more booze-fueled incidents at (then dry) KBS than I have at BOAS, not that I’ve seen too many at either. Evidence from other football stadiums suggest that legal beer sales cut down on alcohol-related issues. I do not anticipate a problem, at least not a new problem, if that’s your point of view about alcohol.
At the Rock, I've never seen a major incident and I've never had to worry about the in-game crowd my kids are exposed to. Sure, there is drinking at tailgates and we have a long and storied history of smuggled airplane bottles. But, the game is the focus vs. who's buying the next beer.
That is my only concern with in-stadium alcohol sales.
At the Charlotte game last year, Norm's Tavern had a line pre-game and throughout the game (which definitely shows demand). But, those who were interested in the Tavern, were not interested in the game (I'm not sure they could even see the field). You see the same thing at the Budweiser Party Deck at every MLB Stadium.

Where I sit in Panthers stadium I’ve had 1 problem wit a drunk since inception. He was quickly escorted out. The only other problem was with a redneck DALLAS fan.... it’s a whole different crowd at NFL games.

Re: Beer/Wine
Lets just talk of KBS; few care about the NFL experience. Let the sales happen and add to the University bank roll. And STOP the talk of government not working due to Politics...................... Not the place

I’m much more concerned about logistics in and out of the stadium in 2019 than beer/wine at concessions.

You guys are missing a marketing opportunity here- Drinkin' With Drinkwitz! Have the coach step out into the field before kickoff, raise a cup of his favorite frosty beverage, and lead a toast. You can sell the sponsorship for it, and of course tons of beer.

A toast...that's boring...Now a Stone Cold Steve Austin two beers smashed together before chugging type entrance would get the crowd hype.Nugget49 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 8:58 amYou guys are missing a marketing opportunity here- Drinkin' With Drinkwitz! I was told the “income would be insignificant, it is about enhancing the fan experience”. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

That’s a little low class. We will let GA Southern do that.
Actually, I think they already do...

But we are, in fact, a state school, which means we are under government funding for a large portion of the school. If I'm thinking correct, a private donation given to the school is still considered to be government dollars once it hits the employee's possession. Or maybe it is once the gift is recorded. Either way.NoLongerLurking wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:00 pmAlso, our government does not work.
