2019 Special Teams - Strong or Weak "Link"

Will our Special Teams play with a new Position Coach (Eric Link) be a Strong "Link" or a Weak "Link" for the 2019 Mountaineers.

Strong "Links" We have returning starters at punter, place kicker, kickoff returner and a sure-handed punt returner.
Weak "Links" We are replacing a position coach, 2 long snappers, a kickoff (KO) specialist, and a dynamic punk returner.

What do you think, Yosef's Cabin members?

As with all new positions, this remains to be seen, but I am optimistic.
1) albeit new, dedicated special teams coach. 💯 focus for Coach Link on special teams and them getting better.
2) Hennigan, Evans, Malik Williams, raykwon Anderson (if he don’t redshirt)maybe Peoples all have the tools to be great returners, and many have experience already.
Unless we are trying to fix something that wasn’t broke, I see no reason why we shouldn’t be at least as good as last year.

I think the biggest test is finding a KO specialist to replace Rubino.

Hope we can find someone with a strong leg. Always like opposing teams starting on 25 after a score. No chance of losing momentum when you can kick it through the end zone.

I don't look at it as a negative. Rubino wasn't a starter (but, found a way to contribute and really did a good job in the specialist roll). He earned his degree at App and found a way to get a year of grad school paid for, that will probably benefit favorably down the road.

I'll be in the stands and hope he kicks a meaningless 4th Q FG for the Heels, to up their total to 6, as we are already celebrating on the sideline.

I don’t have an issue with Grad transfers playing right away. All others need to sit a year.

Maybe he'll miss a field goal to give APP the win?

With my luck it doesn’t work that way.

Sorry.

Do we know he's going to be their FG kicker?

Don't know. Don't care. #NotMyTeam.

Sorry for the sarcasm.

We need someone who can consistently kick off into the end zone. Hopefully one of the freshmen will deliver. When does camp start ?
