Can this be a central thread for discussion of fall camp?

Starts today, can’t wait to see how we come out.
Hoping everyone stays healthy throughout...

Looks like these two were on campus over summer.

From Drink:

Luke Burnette and Nate Haskins are no longer on the team due to injuries, still enrolled at App.

Chris Willis will be out for the year with a “lower leg injury”. Hate to see that, thought he was gonna be in line for a big year.

Ouch on Willis especially, seems we need more depth there to me.

best of luck to those young men. Hope Willis comes back stronger!

Sucks to have your year cut before CAMP even starts, but it didn't look to affect Evans too much last year.

Of course thats with not knowing the differences between the injuries.

With the news about Burnette the OL recruiting for this class becomes pretty crucial too. Not discrediting the last staff at all but all those misses on the OL the last few years may come back to bite us now.

When this happens does it open spots for possible added transfers?

I believe Haskins and Burnette maintain their schollies.

Assuming the disqualifications were outside of the knowledge and control of those two kids, the schollies should be maintained (as long as they get it done in the classroom). No one on campus is more disappointed than they are. A life-long dream just evaporated for them.

I wasn’t sure how to interpret no longer on the team due to injury- guess that means both experienced career ending injuries. That really stinks for those young men if that’s the case

They do, but they don’t count against the 85 limit. So yes, two spots open up.

As East said, they keep their scholarships. They transfer over to medical scholarships and do not count toward the 85 limit. To answer the other question about grad transfer. You aren't going to find a transfer that will come in and start. They would more than likely come in for depth and emergency duty to preserve the RS status for the 3 new OL.

Hope Zareon Hayes and Hansky Paillant are ready to step up at DE now with Willis out. We need them to be in the rotation.

This may push that OL transfer from UT closer to more playing time. I haven’t looked closely yet at the OL depth.

Solid starting five. Going to need some young guys to contribute after that.

Would sure be nice if the light would come on for Matt Williams.

Looking at that list it’s actually not as bad as i thought, granted the young guys pan out. I am high on the three true freshman and Hodges.

We do need to pick up about 3 good OLs in recruiting this year
