Nice Hennigan article from EJ

Hoping for Hennigan to have a monster year.
The article didn’t mention how the QB change affected him. ZT and Sutton being on scout team together definitely forged a rhythm between the two that made Sutton the go to guy for Zac. Hope we spread the ball around a little more this year

All last year I had to double check the field just to make sure TH was indeed playing. Need to find him a bit more.

I like Hennigan, to be sure, but it's about synergy. You only have so many plays you can run and so many people you can get the ball to. I don't remember watching many plays last season where Zac forced a ball up to Sutton that could've gone anywhere else. Evans is also a good option for getting the ball.
Fact is that we should see an uptick in production across the board due to forecasted changes to the offense. Hopefully Hennigan is given more opportunities but really it's about efficiency. He can be the guy if needed, as can Williams and Sutton. Just a matter of playing efficiently within the offense.

I have a feeling Sutton and Hennigan are both set for big years in Drink’s offense, especially if NC State’s receiving numbers from last year translate over to our offense. Drink has a history for spreading the ball around everywhere he’s been.

Williams should have a nice year as well as Drink likes the quick passes.
This offense could be a lot of fun.

Run the slant. Hennigan will eat up opposing secondaries.

The TH article ran as a color article on the front top fold of Greensboro paper as well. Also an article from Fayetteville newspaper which is nice to see. EJ does a GREAT job and I am glad Greensboro carries his articles often, but having other papers, especially those nearer other universities is good to see as well.
Also I have a letter to the editor today in the Greensboro paper about the War on Poverty. Just tossing that out as well.

I expect the middle of the field to be open as game progress into the second half, as Drink has a history of spreading the field horizontally (sideline to sideline). That should open up more opportunities for TH. Rick was right when he said we have a plethora of weapons, all of which can fit into multiple roles.

we have so many talented WRs and RBs that we should be able to stay really fresh barring several injuries from a single position group. Hope we can utilize them all and keep them happy with the touches they get.

I predict an early end to Hennigan's regular season touchdown drought. I believe he is going to have a great season. Just because he isn't THE "go to" guy, doesn't mean he isn't still A "go to" guy! We are blessed with an abundance of talent and I imagine several guys on our roster are having to learn to share that spotlight. It's a great "problem" to have!

I'm sure Hennigan being a Greensboro/Northwest Guilford guy played a role but it is nice to see App stories in the N&R.

Certainly. The N&R really only started covering App with long articles when the Hickory, Statesville, W-S and Gboro, and one more paper somewhere in the Piedmont of NC were all purchased by Warran Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. At that point the N&R started carrying a lot of the WSJ articles. When I commented on the good coverage, Ed Hardin emailed back about BH media "being all on the same team"
During the 2005-2007 years the coverage was lacking in my view and I told them that often. Part of that is us being FCS at the time.
With the business of papers being what it is now this is the best we will get in Gboro, but it is not bad. I have noticed a decided decrease in coverage on ECU over the years since we moved to FBS. Partly that is their lessened on field success I imagine.
The Prig5 schools in the state continue to get plenty of coverage and they get the lions share of Ed Hardin's columns. I generally skip those.

Maybe get a good start this first game without Sutton and then it continues, will need at least 2 outstanding WRs if we are going to pass a lot more.

The Greensboro paper gave coverage to App back in the 70's when hardly anyone else did. I used to get the paper every time I was in the area.

Was that the Greensboro News or the Greensboro Record?
