Yeah I think he and Bruce quit coming here when they couldn't go pee wherever they wanted to anymore. But get you a guitar and you can learn margaritaville in 10 minutes and have more fun anywayAppDawg wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 9:39 amUnfortunately, that’s what you get with Ticketmaster these days. It’s ridiculous & out of control. My family was planning to go see Jimmy Buffett in Va Beach last month (since he evidently doesn’t come to Raleigh anymore) and tickets for the lawn, yes THE LAWN, were $200 EACH. Similar thing happened when Hootie & Barenaked Ladies came... none of these current front-line headliners.MrCraig wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 7:37 amThe cheapest tickets on Ticketmaster are $59 each. That's in the nose bleed section of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and that doesn't include the fees that Ticketmaster adds. If you plan on going with a significant other, and want to actual see the performers, plan on dropping at least $500.
After seeing that I read that there is a class-action suit pending against TM as it has been discovered they are allowing professional scalping companies to purchase tickets and resell through the TM website that allows TM to double dip on fees.

I played behind Brown and Church at Linville Golf Club a few years back when Brown was retired up this way. I’m sure they have drank a little drank and smoked a little smoke with each other.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 3:29 pmMaybe if our coaching staff reached out to him like Mack Brown did it would never have reached that point, but it did and it is what it is. But from what I was told by a co-worker, the crowd was booing his song between the 3rd & 4th quarter because it replaced whatever they traditionally played between the 3rd & 4th quarter - I believe he said it was supposed to be James Taylor playing.

Re: Eric Church
I heard he did an intro at the game yesterday proclaiming he was a Cheater fan. According to Idiot Central App fans booed him and called him traitor. I'm not sure they (unc) really want him being a part of their program or any Country music for that matter. Eric may end up in no man's land.

Re: Eric Church
Like I said on a Facebook post, App went so far to give Church his own line of App merchandise.
If you cant stay loyal to your alma mater which invested in your brand than you can go piss up a rope.
I’d rather have some other well known App like Charlotte Flair carry our banner than a band wagoner lol

I've never seen Eric Church App merchandise. There is a line of Luke Combs merchandise in the bookstore.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 8:59 amLike I said on a Facebook post, App went so far to give Church his own line of App merchandise.

My guess is that it did not sell very well or sell at all, and was pulled fairly quickly. His managers then decided to reach out to UNC-CH and maybe he even suggested it. I am sure, as most things are in the entertainment and especially music business, a lot of behind the scenes handling and such where Eric is not even involved. He is obviously involved in the personal appearances.
That is not to excuse what he has done.
I don't care for country music very much, or at least the modern rock/pop country and it seems that is his genre, and maybe I am wrong, again I don't listen to enough of this genre to even know. I could not recognize an Eric Church song from anyone else. As an App alum I wish him well, but that is about the extent of it.
I'll not be spending money on Combs either, but I would not be upset if App paid Combs to perform a concert after a game or at some App function some day. There is no denying Luke loves App and I do prefer that from an alumnus. I would not be happy if App paid money for Church to perform. I would be OK with a free concert from Church, but not paid.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Eric Church
Never fully shut the door on EC.... He may find his way back home. When he does, we should welcome him with open arms. He is an App Grad after all.
Until then, poke away.... Seems the "pride, passion and purpose" of being an App State Alumn and Fan, is lost on him... for now.

Re: Eric Church
Who cares? It's puzzling why we keep having these threads. Most people don't even know who he is or care who he roots for.
Re: Eric Church
The Mountain Music thing makes me cringe as well. I wish we could get Luke Combs to write a song about Boone that had a catchy chorus that we could make our own. That would be cool.

Re: Eric Church
Apparently, he and Mack Brown are pretty close. My guess that has something to do with his presence in the intro. No doubt, he is a big Carolina fan and its a little hard to swallow knowing he's an App grad. I don't get too worked up over and try not to take it as a personal affront.

Re: Eric Church
UNC-CHeat achieved their goal, get under the skin of App by playing an intro of their alum supporting the Tar Holes.
I like Eric Church’s music but highly disappointed in his agreement to play the intro for UNC-CHeat against his alma mater. In poor taste whether he or his staff made the decision.

Re: Eric Church
So why aren’t we playing this instead of “Mountain Music?” Put the words on the board and get the stadium rocking.
