Yep. This Coastal game now means more than the UNC game. Coastal is a good opponent, is our opening conference game, and the next step to going undefeated. We will be ranked this season, just not worried about when it does happen.

That’s what I’m thinking after taking a closer look at their stats. Especially since our guys have a lot of recovering to do. That was a grueling game for the defense especially Saturday.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 10:50 amCoastal, seriously, may be the best Carolina we play this year.

Re: #25 in CBS Rankings
They won't be the Carolina with the "best" (highest rated) athletes but they'll be the most motivated and the one executing the best. It's a dangerous game and I hope we continue to improve. We don't need to sputter here. App playing our best will put Coastal away but they are good enough to take advantage of a sub par effort. The good news is that, I don't think Drink is likely to let that happen!

I'm glad this game is in Boone - another hot, steamy game would definitely be difficult for the team, especially if there are lingering injuries that keep guys out. The weather in Boone will be warm enough as it is.AppinATL wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 11:55 amThat’s what I’m thinking after taking a closer look at their stats. I always love seeing our name on rankings like this...someone there (CBS & USA Today) is showing us some respect. Let's prove them right.

80% of my focus is on being ranked, the other 20% is dedicated to this corn beef sandwich I’m eating.

Re: #25 in CBS Rankings
Great stuff for us fans. Our Vegas line for Coastal has dropped because the wise guys expect us to be let down after beating the Holes. Drink will have them focused I believe after seeing his presser.
2 games ago the Holes were 2-0 and wanting Clemson's ass, but forgot they had a game against Weak Forest and a tune up against little APP St. Now they are 2-2 and gonna go to Death Valley were Dabo is going to name his score on them.

Yep, so they get to see their team lose again in person. I know it's not gonna happen Saturday but hopefully the Heels will win more than they lose going forward so our win will look stronger..

That stadium will be 40% orange at kickoff, 90% orange by the start of the 3rd quarter.

Re: #25 in CBS Rankings
UNC was never that good. They are at 2-2 exactly what they were at 2-0. They are not even rebuilding. They are in transition. Our win Saturday is/was a big deal because we don't typically win those kind of games, not because the UNC team on the field was particularly good. All this focus on rankings is silly. We have work to do. When this season is over, North Carolina might be our most notable win, but it won't be the game that meant the most.

I hope they never rank us. I love the disrespect. Wins and rings matter. I urge all the AP voters to take us out of their vote. Fuel us. You need to forget the rankings. We will eventually be ranked as long as we win. We overlook CCU and we will never be ranked this year anyway.

Finishing the season ranked in the top 25 will do more for our football program long term than winning the Sunbelt would ever do.
Now, do those go hand in hand? Probably. So the debate is moot.
