Someone hasn’t seen App’s record against UL since 2013...
It could be argued that UL is a better team this year, time will tell; but to suggest that we aren’t on the same level as them is farce and completely misinformed.

So, Ul's best win was Liberty (who's now 3-2), worst loss was MS State. Our best win was UNC, and our worst loss was.....

I read that earlier, and instantly realized that the entirety of the authors' knowledge and research consisted of looking at the teams' FPI ratings. This is what happens when a national outlet has people writing about a subject they don't cover regularly.

OK, true, they've never beaten us. BUT, on the other hand, they've also never come within single digits of us.

They are being overrated by keeping the MissSt game close. Miss State was overrated from the get go this season and from film I watched on that game last night, Miss State was sloppy and had no fluidity to their playcalling. It was like they didn’t even gameplan for Louisiana and it showed in their performance. I’m not downplaying Louisiana, but there is nothing they have done this season that makes me think they are something to be feared. Georgia Southern threw the ball 12 times and still scored 24 points. I know our defense raises a lot of red flags, but any team that plays us better realize that they are going to have to score 40+ in hopes of winning.

I think these two teams are very close but he is acting like we should lose for sure. We should win but this is a game that could go either way. I will not be shocked if we win by 10 or 13 or if we lose by a score or two. He is acting like we aren't in their league and I have yet to see proof of why that would be.

Another thing many don't mention about that game is that MSU had several starters missing. ULL is a solid team and one that we better be ready. A G5 team should never play a SEC team close when you consider the money, facilities, and the fact that 90% of the time if they want the same player they will get them. However, ULL did and so we have to give them respect for it. This game has me just as worried as any game left on the schedule right now.

This is great! The better they think UL is, the better the win will look. Perfect!

ESPN - Appy State

At least they didn't call us "Appy State" like they did after the "Coast Carolina" game. In a world in which "news" is on 24/7/365, none of us should be surprised at the filler that makes up the web pages and otherwise dead air time.

I wish I could make next week's game in Lafayette.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but since we are on the topic of ESPN not covering the Sun Belt well....

Last night I switched over to Stink vs. South Alabama, and it was halftime. They were showing a feature on Jake Fromm that was on College Game Day two weeks ago. If ESPN isn't going to go to the trouble to respect the little teams enough to make a feature about one of the two teams playing, couldn't they at least show the bands at halftime? Couldn't they show SOMETHING that related to the two teams that were actually playing that night?

Maybe (definitely) I'm becoming a grump as I age, but I hate the way live sports are televised.

Does ESPN track how teams did versus their own predictor thing? Don't they have LA pretty favorable over us? Just wondering how many times the "underdog" has won despite the ridiculous statistical probabilities they come up with.

14 point of Ga Southern’s total came from short fields due to muffed punts.

This is exactly what we needed. I like the way we play when we’re disrespected.
