2-0
Sorry!! Not falling for some of the sorrow on here!
We are 2-0. We are improving every week. We have a bye to figure out some weaknesses.
CHARLOTTE f ing can’t live for anything but to beat us and we won by 15. Not 1,3,7,10 but 15.
Do we look invencible? No! But it’s college football! Nebraska lost to Colorado today! It happens! We may be ranked going against UNC!
Get over it!

Re: 2-0
Improvement from last year? Not necessarily on defense. But holistically week over week, I see improvement.
UNCC has definitely improved from last year, they potentially could win CUSA.
All I’m saying is we are 2-0, the sky isn’t falling.....yet and we don’t know yet what we have.
UL Monroe May upset FL State, but it is week 2. We don’t understand what the significance would be. That’s all I’m saying. Don’t panic.

Re: 2-0
Defense needs work, but we are still 2-0. UNCC can puff out their chests and brag about how they only lost by 15 points when they’re sitting at home this bowl season. It’s really the only tradition that program has been able to put together.

Re: 2-0
Aside for a few run fits, we shut down their running game. Reynolds played like an All American today.

Re: 2-0
Again. They rushed the ball 41 times. 126 of that came on two runs. Do you need a slide rule?

No man. It doesn’t matter how many times you repeat it. You can’t take away their biggest plays in order to argue we did well defensively.
Edit: unless you want to go back and remove all of their missed blocking assignments on plays where we caught them in the backfield

Re: 2-0
I get that some people go over board...but...I also think it's fair to say this is the worse place we've been after 2 games any FULL FBS season (2015-2019). Sure we had losses to tennessee, Georgia, clemson and penn state in those seasons, but all of those performances (maybe not clemson, but we didnt have the same expectations then) were better than where we are now. I am grateful for the bye and hope we take a healthy and hungry team into a tough game in Chapel Hill.
But I wouldnt sugar coat this...i believe this is the 3rd most points we've given up (tied with Clemson) in FBS. Only 52 to ULM in 2017 and penn state were worse, but penn state was in overtime. You cant pretend defense or roof is tolerable at this point. You also Cant complain about offense too much and you have to admit special teams seems dominant like always.

Re: 2-0
Haha no misery at all dude. It’s just a game. Which is why it’s easy to approach it empirically. We gotta be better if we want to stay on top, no excuses. Go App.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 7:48 pmEnjoy your pit of miseryah59396 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 7:40 pmNo man. It doesn’t matter how many times you repeat it. Re: 2-0
There’s no doubt our defense has got to get much, much better, but as for our delusional opponents, take that 0-2 and live with it for at least seven years.

Re: 2-0
To be somewhat optimistic about the performance today, we could look in a few months and see UNCC winning C-USA, then today's game doesn't feel as bad. We will improve. Less confidence from me for the UNC game, but can see by time we get to conference play having ourselves together.

Re: 2-0
I'm bummed about our performance today, no doubt. But how many ugly wins did we see under Satt? How many ugly wins did we have in 10+ win seasons? We could very easily look unbeatable the rest of the season and look back at this game as a fluke.

Re: 2-0
This is the only solace I take - Satterfield’s first 6 games were not stellar (in fact, at least one of the worst losses in App football history took place in that period), but he got it together and turned it around. Here’s hoping that Drink is an even quicker study and keeps making progress with the offense and that some how, some way, the defense gets figured out.CheckYosef94 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 8:34 pmI'm bummed about our performance today, no doubt. Re: 2-0
Drink took over a much better team than Satt, not even comparable. Satt started with at best average FCS talent, Drink top Group of Five talent.

Re: 2-0
And we have two of the most important games in our programs history this year.... UNC and USC. Both were winnable games coming into this season. For me, loosing them would be a step back.

Agree, they aren’t directly comparable. I’m just grasping for any bit of optimism I can find at this point.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 8:42 pmDrink took over a much better team than Satt, not even comparable. Satt started with at best average FCS talent, Drink top Group of Five talent.

Re: 2-0
I guess so. But that has nothing to do with our defense.postalapp90 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:07 pmAnd 155 of our 276 rushing yards came on two runs so i guess they shut our running game down too.
