I thought Raycom was no more, since the ACC Network came on the air...moonshine wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:30 pmOn RSN (Raycom Sports Network)

Re: App/UNC Game Time
So I have to hope my local two-bit CW affiliate picks up the game so I can DVR to watch later since I won't be able to watch it on my phone while I'm at the girls' field hockey tournament? On the bright side, I won't be yelled at by my 9 year for watching my phone instead of her goalkeeping.moonshine wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:30 pmOn RSN (Raycom Sports Network)

I believe RSN stands for Regional Sports Networks. We should know what channel 10 days before the game.

Re: App/UNC Game Time
My apologies, Moody is correct. It's the Regional Sports Network. I got caught up at work and forgot to jump on and correct it. Guess I'm still living in the 80's with RaycomTheMoody1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 1:33 pmI believe RSN stands for Regional Sports Networks. We should know what channel 10 days before the game.

Re: App/UNC Game Time
No kidding. It gets pretty brutal in the sun on the east side early in the season. I'm not certain I'll get my fiancee to another September game on the east side after the ETSU game.
Chapel Hill is going to be pretty brutal with a 3:30 start if the weather is sunny and the temps are average for that area that time of year.

Re: App/UNC Game Time
I'm sure we'll find out more info as time progresses, on the RSN Fox page it breaks up the network into regions, I'm assuming the game will be shown on the Carolinas region, my question is that I'll be working in Tennessee during this game and if I subscribe to RSN, will I have the option to see the Carolinas feed or will I be stuck with the Tennessee feed?

I hate this! I was really hoping for that 6:00 game. This means I'll wind up missing the beginning because of a family obligation.

Re: App/UNC Game Time
Don't think so, that would be only for home games (or home games for Sun Belt teams).

Re: App/UNC Game Time
The ESPN app has the game listed as ACCNX. I believe that means it will be available in some areas thru the ESPN app , but the live feed may be blacked out locally in certain markets in the southeast.
Basically, what I think it means is the ACC network/ESPN is producing the game and making it available through syndication to the local RSN affiliates.
The game is of little national interest so it is not on the main ACCN or ESPN but is is of significant enough local interest enough that some markets will want the game not relegated solely to streaming.
UVA's game last week vs W&M was listed that way. Here for me locally if I had wanted to watch it through the ESPN app on my PS4, I would have gotten a "this game is blacked out in your area" screen and would need to turn the my local CW affiliate on the cable box. However, if I wanted to watch that game on the PS4 anytime after about 30 minutes after the game was over, I could have from the ESPN app.

Re: App/UNC Game Time
Based upon the last couple of weeks, it will probably be Tom Werme and James Bates on the call. With Werme, it will be like going back to the old days in the SoCon when we were broadcast on PBS.

Re: App/UNC Game Time
Yes that is correct, but I would recommend you look at this week's ACC games on your local RSN/Fox Regional Sports affiliate. It will likely be an ESPN production, available on the ESPN app in non-blacked out areas.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 12:19 pmApp state sports announced it would be on Fox sports Southhttps://www.facebook.com/21461065905/posts/1015 ... 06?sfns=moAppfaninCAALand wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:55 amThe ESPN app has the game listed as ACCNX. I could be completely wrong, but I have a strong suspicion that this will be the case. It has been so for ACC games the last 2 weeks, like with my UVA/W&M example. It was also the case with ACC/Raycom games before the ACC Network started. They are usually broadcast locally on our RSN affiliates, and nationally streamed on ESPN 3/+
Again, I want to stress the local syndication / blackout nature in play with this type of broadcast. It will probably be blacked out from DC to Jacksonville at least, so it would make since for App to announce it that way because 98% of the people who want to watch it will need to do so on the RSN network.
EDIT: i just went and looked on the ESPN+ app on my phone. The BROADCAST schedule for 9/21 INCLUDES App v UNC at 3:30. I'm sure ot will be blacked out however.
