Relying on the Cheerleaders

We really need the Cheerleaders to step up and lead the fans in Chapel Hole. Please have them bring signs with App and State to establish early which section is which. This needs to happen long before the game starts to be most effective. They will be the one's to set the tone and get us organized so the rhythm is there to make OUR chant heard!

For the most part we are mainly in sections 100 and 200. Where are the students seating? They should start the chant!

The are called Cheer LEADERS for a reason. If that isn't what they are going to do then they should be called Cheer Team. Or maybe that's what they are now. I have been wrong before.

I wouldn’t give them too much crap until we find out what they are being ask or allowed to do. Hard to lead cheers when the PA system is constantly playing. I’ve seen them try to get stuff started only to have the PA drowned them out. Seen the same happen to the band. O well, just another dead horse to beat.

We're on both sides of the stadium. Let it be just like Kidd-Brewer. App sideline side is "App", other sideline side it "State". It's not rocket science.

If nothing else, we HAVE to have a strong showing for an “App” “State” chant. That will be our sign to UNC that we mean business!

I really dont understand how hard it is. I was a student from 05-09 and we had it going non-stop. Also - i do agree about the cheer leaders, i was talking to someone about that last game. They use to have signs and be on both sides of the field. Seems like such an easy thing to bring back.....

100% agree with this. But there are a small number of people who will read this and know what we are trying to do. My bigger hope was that the Cheerleaders, given their visibility and traditional purpose, could assist us loyals in this endeavor. Having someone down at field level in front of our sections could only assist us making the chant successful. If we are waiting on an organic beginning to be started it will be more difficult. Not impossible, but more difficult.

You are correct, it isn't rocket science. But if we can't get it started in Kidd Brewer without the video board how do you expect it to be started at any opponent's field?

I mean, my non-sober self will start it in Keenan Stadium in a heartbeat. Just need some rowdy fans on both sides of the field to support me!

I'm going to assume that the fans passionate enough to travel in droves to UNC will be passionate enough about AppState athletics to figure out one of our primary chants.
