Greensboro sports page 19 Sept 2019
Ed Hardin has an article (I have not had a chance to read it yet) with a great picture of the block "A" on the hill in color on the top half spread of the front sports page.
If you have twitter @Ed_Hardin might be worth giving him a thanks for the coverage. Generally the coverage is from Ethan.
Ethan also have his article with a nice color picture of Subotsch on page 3.

Once you read it, you will not be so thankful for his coverage.

The Subotsch article was actually pretty good by EJ...Hardin's not so much.

I feel better about the game Saturday now because apparently our team "really has spunk."

I was hoping that would not be the case, but not surprised either. At least we have Ethan in the same paper. Still a nice color picture.asucrutch23 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 9:08 amOnce you read it, you will not be so thankful for his coverage.

Re: Greensboro sports page 19 Sept 2019
No offense to Mr. Hardin but that article was ridiculous. Defensive issues aside (and unless I am just blind and biased) is the gap between the two programs THAT large? Once in a lifetime? Good lord this isn't that big of a deal in terms of programs and games. Now the Michigan game ended up being a once in a lifetime deal considering the outcome and aftermath. I certainly hope that little old (former NAIA) App State can somehow overcome the wow factor and actually compete with big bad CAROLINA!!

Maybe tweet him that the article was full of holes.

It was a one-dimensional portrayal of App State and Boone that falls into the realm of how Tobacco Road and Charlotte covers rural areas. And the Macado's digression was unneeded and just a way of saying "oh look, a popular Boone location."

He's been crushed on twitter all day. I'm guessing it was all intentional and done to rile us. Surely to goodness he isn't as clueless as this article portrays.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 9:43 amMaybe tweet him that the article was full of holes.

The most interesting piece of news from that article is that I learned Ed Hardin is still churning out poorly writing "sports opinion" baby blue puffery for the Greensboro fishwrap all these later. I remember my dad and I mocking his Tar Hole propaganda pieces back when i lived in Greensboro. And I haven't lived there since I enrolled at App State in 1994.

Sometimes all they’re after is page views. He certainly got them from App NationAppster99 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 7:54 pmHe's been crushed on twitter all day. It’s the Papa Smirf coolaid in G’boro trying to equalize the other towns with true football like Boone. They don’t have a team they can call their own.

Re: Greensboro sports page 19 Sept 2019
I know Ethan will have a great article and Greensboro will carry it. I will be curious what Ed Hardin will write. Given what he wrote the other day he needs to spend a little time recognizing what we have at App and do it in an honest manner.

Re: Greensboro sports page 19 Sept 2019
Same with most of these columns from Raleigh, Charlotte, etc.
Where do these guys think our students are from? And where do they think our alumni live? And for that matter, what do they thing the mountains are? Have they never been to Boone? Do they just flip through some old Snuffy Smith comics and watch Deliverance and then start typing away?
I’m embarrassed for them.
