That game was too close and I’d like to give a shout out to UNC for a great game played and almost pulling off the upset against a far more superior team. I will be pulling for you the rest of the year!

I have never, ever been to a game at any level where fans booed a player for going down, cramp or otherwise. Even some Heels fans sitting near me said that was crossing a line. No class. They deserved a much worse a$$ beating than they got!

I don't mean to be a contrarian but it happens all the time when players go down with cramping. The assertion is they go down to slow down the other team's drive. I don't think that was the case yesterday but booing such happens everywhere.

Heat cramps are among the first symptoms of impending heat prostration. Scat can vouch for that.

They showed a lot of spunk keeping it so close.

Showed our coaches some of our deficiencies before conference play starts.

But more so in a place filled with scabs like the Heels' venue.

The cramping came close to being an issue, saw Sutton cramp up then others. I seriously hope our staff takes note of that for the next time the team travels off the mountain into the devil's humidity, so it won't cost the team any integrity. Their bodies just weren't used to the humidity. If they aren't, they need to be hydrating 72 hours before any unfriendly climate. The Holes didn't give us any chances with cramps for our fans to reciprocate the booing as hapapp suggested.

Stay hydrated, my friends!

That first EZU game years ago was almost the opposite. Every play in the second half they had a guy go down yet we seemed to have none. I found that amazing at the time. Someone needs to get in the way back machine and find out what we were doing that season

Flip sides of the field and make them stand in the sun the entire game. If we had been in the shade this may not have even been an issue.

I would bet we were not booing their players

Yup. UNC had a few players go down and when the got up all the App ads cheered. When an App player went down they boo’d. Although I can understand their frustration I’m watching their team get it handed to them in their own stadium.

I listened to the game on the radio, but am watching the condensed game on YouTube. Was the first touchdown taunting? I thought the way the receiver drug his toes as he scampered in met that definition. I found the definition and pasted an excerpt below (I don't know fully if the rule still reads that way). I realize it's a moot point now, but if anyone else rewatches the first TD, as subtle as the action was, was it taunting in your opinion?
I hope I don't get raked over the coals for asking.

To clarify, I don't think there's anything wrong with some celebration. I just wonder if the rule was violated and a penalty should have been called.

It does happen and it should not. Give the player the benefit of the doubt. One, this is a game, and two, these are young men, and three, this game can produce fatalities or permanent paralysis, all for entertainment. I hope App never does that. I heard a few boos during a UNC-CH injury, from App fans after UNC-CH started the booing, and I did not like it, and glad it was in very small numbers.

The last time I heard booing, that I remember, was at JMU in 2008.

They didn't boo when we had players go down for injuries that weren't cramping. I don't recall any of their players go down for that reason. If the roles were reversed and we were driving down the field and they had players going down like we did, our fans would boo. Hell, we boo the opposing team for just entering the stadium. I'm not suggesting that they were justified in their booing, our guys were truly cramping up. Why in the closing minutes of the game would we put untested players in that situation just so we can fake injuries? Of course, we wouldn't and didn't. But its naïve to think that doesn't happen everywhere.

The refs were SunBelt, not very good or they grew up Hole fans. They must have been absent from ref school the day when holding was taught.
