Mack Brown: bless his heart

Unread post by scatman77 » Sun Sep 22, 2019 7:01 am

This quote I read this morning:
“I think it was more us, really,” UNC coach Mack Brown said when asked what App’s offense did to give the defense trouble. “We didn’t tackle well...We had guys out of position on third down.”

No Mack...just no. Give credit to the team that beat you.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Their DBs were all over our WRs, our guys just made plays.

We went pretty conservative in the 4th, the only guy stopping Zac and the four horsemen was Drink.

If they called holding their offense doesn’t move the ball in the second half.

Giving credit to us outplaying and out coaching them would not go over well with the fan base who’s in complete denial of what happened and the fact that we’re better. He knows that.

Mack hasn’t changed. He has never been able to give credit where it is due. That’s why nobody liked him the first time around in ACC

I didn't see his post game comments, but I did see half time. He was making similar comments but did comment that App was playing well. It's hard to disagree and generally the fan base will accept an issue that can be "fixed." Telling the UNC fan base that the other team just beat you, etc. is never going to go over too well.

Anyone that doesn't think Mack would boatrace us and steal recruits is an idiot. Just because he coached here for one year almost 40 years ago and uses a few coachspeak phrases does not mean much.

Narrator: It wasn’t.

UNC lead the game for a total of what? 30 seconds? And the rest of the game they were playing catchup.

He makes it sound like they blew a three score lead or something.
