Boise State is legit. Just looking at which teams got votes I would guess we will be 23, 24, or 25. Depends if Washington wins or loses.

Mizzou is ineligible in the coaches poll this year because of their postseason ban. It's a coaches' poll rule, but not an AP poll rule.

I had forgotten about that. Probably means we are 24-25 and won't hit 23 unless Iowa drops more than I'm thinking. You know Minnesota will make a big jump since they are an undefeated P5 who looked very good in a blowout win over a P5 with a winning record. It would not surprise me if because of that we are either equal in both polls or coaches may have us one slot ahead of AP.

CBS writer has us at 23 but that is with Iowa behind us and I'm thinking Iowa won't fall quite as much as they do. Iowa lost a close one to a top 10 team. I honestly don't think Iowa should drop more than 2 spots max.

Like the AP and Coaches Polls this won’t guarantee a ranking in the CFP but if we put together some statement wins over the next 4 weeks it will be interesting to see how high we climb. Still a lot to play. I’m not worried about moving up because these AAC teams will beat each other up. If we keep winning Boise State will be the only team in our way.

Not likely, Boise has gone undefeated before with better wins then they will have this year....that being said...2 G5s have never gone undefeated in the same year in the BCS to now era...so if that happened I'm sure some accommodation would be made to get high level bowls for both. But Boise is the one team that we cannot pass if they go undefeated...they are the stand alone biggest name in non power conference football

Boise probably beats BYU next week. Texas should drop below them today. Not much else probably shakes up above Boise this week or next.

Boise making the playoff (the only larger bowls) does not free up another G5 spot.

The best G5 champ is guaranteed a NY6 bowl, but the playoff counts as NY6. The Cotton Bowl spot would then go to the best at-large. Doubtful we could make it that high.
