UL

Unread post by HighPointApp » Sun Sep 29, 2019 10:57 am

I wanted to start this thread to begin focusing on the Ragin Cajuns. Here is the stats from their win over GS.

UL - GS

1st downs - 23 18
total offense - 440 252
Yards Passing - 165 37
Rushing Yards - 275 215
6.5 yards per carry 3.8
2 fumbles 0
time of possession - 26:04 33:56

Our coaching staff has ten days to prepare for the Cajuns. I have faith and confidence in the coaches to break down the Cajuns and attack their weaknesses on offense and defense. I expect a hard fought game.

Time to focus on the next game. 1-0.

They are working HARD to fill that stadium. We need to send a good number of fans down there. May be the loudest game we play this year

This is going to be a dog fight, I think the biggest question that will be answered for us will be our teams heart. They are going to punch us in the mouth unlike any other team we have faced so how our guys respond to it will be telling. You know they think the conference is theirs for the taking and I fully expect to see a focused and energized ULL and we don't match their effort they have the ability to run us out the stadium.

This is going to be a tough one. Beat them down there now so they have to beat us up here in December.

If it wasn't freaking humpday, I'd find a way to make it.

This one is pretty easy to figure out. You stop the run and you take your chances on an average QB to beat you. Sound familiar? They will want to shorten the game by running it. They can’t match us score for score.

TOP could dictate this game late, ULL’s formula will be Satt’s in prior years, pound the ball, sprinkle in passes, stay close the first 40 minutes then punch us in the mouth last.

Let's not forget their WR, that's a bad dude. He will be playing on Sunday for a long time.

If you dig deep into Napier’s system you can’t help but being impressed and the results in a short time bear that out. Remember that team only season before last ? Anyway , looks like the game of the year in the conference. We have to find a way to put them in third and somewhat long , and then clamp down.

If we can stop the run I do like our chances. They have depended on that and they ran fairly well against Mississippi State. This game has me nervous. On the road on national TV in the middle of the week. The one good thing I like about this game is that we are not playing this Saturday. This team can beat us and this will definitely be their Super Bowl. They want revenge for last year. I hope we don't give them what they want. This team is well coached so I don't expect Napier to make any mistakes on his end.

Very impressed. I think he has done the best job in the league the last couple years for sure. Napier is a good one who I hope won't be there after this year. They came close with us last year. It was a hard fought win in Boone. Hopefully, we win this and if we have to play them for the SBC title it will be back in Boone!

I really don’t understand why people reference games being a Super Bowl? What exactly makes it their Super Bowl?

App is the King of the Hill until we’re not. Every team wants to beat us. “Arrogant App” is coming to town....Let’s be the ones to take them down a notch.

I’ll put this here since we often get offended by what people call us. It’s UL or Louisiana.

I’m still not sure how good they are because I don’t know how good GS or Ohio is. Just hope to improve D by then.

My aunt is going who lives in Lafayette but is an App grad.

The difference in this game will be whether we continue to be opportunistic on D and special teams play.

I know that's how they brand themselves and that's fine, but UL is Louisville and Louisiana takes too long to type, so...
