There may be enough movement in the bottom half of the current top 25 that we could back our way in to a ranking tomorrow.

Way too early to even think that.

On a bye week with only 4 games played? No.

Are we still about this? Seems the next opponent should be the focus.....

We are fans, not coaches and players...

Please stop pretending what is said on a message board has bearings on the outcome on the field.

We should be so fortunate to have the opportunity to have these discussions.

I think his point is that we have not even played. I don't think voters would rank us having not played unless we were 25 anyway. Teams who won today will move in.

Well SMU is in a good one and I have to wonder if they fall in the rankings regardless of result now.

I’m really tired of the chastising and scolding some people do when we, as fans, are perceived as “looking past” or not focusing on the next game.
Maybe those people can walk the rest of us through their game week and pre-game rituals that make them successful on the field.
Is it hydration, carb-loading, intense film study?
I’m sure with their inevitable 1-0 mentality, they don’t even know who we play after next Wednesday.
It would be a shame if our discussions about our aspirations and wishes as fans for this season derailed the focus of the people who actually play the game on the field.
I better go now and focus on getting Coach Drink my offensive scheme for UL . He has been waiting on it, but I was too busy thinking about getting in the top 25

Just seems dumb to talk about why we should be ranked when we haven’t even beaten anyone good in our own conference but I digress

If you live your life constantly worried about things you can't control you will drive yourself crazy.

I figure hey let's talk about where we are listed and when we become ranked but no reason to count votes and try to guess what pollsters will do. It will happen when it will happen.

I don’t disagree. I don’t think we will get in this week when we don’t play until Wednesday, and then a lot of other things have to fall in place.
We don’t get a lot of respect since we are in sunbelt. The odds are against us, as usual.
I just get tired of seeing people scold fans for talking about the UNC game when we were about to play ETSU, or talking about a ranking or our chances of getting a NY6 bowl game because we need to “focus” on the next game on the schedule. They aren’t coaches, and we aren’t players. These discussions have no impact on the product between the sidelines.

Geez, I can see that the pursuit of a historic App season doesn’t make you guys as excited to watch the other games that impact the top 25 as much as it does for me. Sorry.

Think of it this way. If we keep winning and look good then it won't matter what others do because we will move up anyway. Plus, I have always had to remember that these things will play out. There is no way 3 AAC teams will finish ranked and no way that if we win the SBC and go undefeated that we won't be ranked. We all know how voters like double digit wins and undefeated records. If a G5 team goes 12-0 they will be ranked higher than they should when it all plays out.
