Is this the post game thread?
If so, ooooo weee mayne. What a defensive performance.
Also what a great drive to end the game. One of the best I’ve ever seen from us. Masterclass from Drink and I loved his aggression to go out and take the game. He could have kicked that FG and took a 6 point lead but that put the ball back in their hands. I REALLY loved that decision.

I agree. I have never seen an app defense that stout. I’ll admit I have ban iffy on them this season but good god did those guys show up and make an impact.ah59396 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:53 pmIs this the post game thread?

Totally was doubting them. That was the defense I remembered from last season.BTK2000 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:55 pmI agree. I have never seen an app defense that stout. This defense is very jekyll and Hyde. They played great this game and the unc game, but not so great for uncc and coastal. Need to play up every game and not just the big ones. But great performance and the o with the long dagger at the end. They did very well considering how many times they started inside the 5.

Go read the Ragin Pagin board game thread. The progressive meltdown starting on page 30 something and continuing through the 10 minute drive is classic. I honestly feel for them. Crazy thing is, we were super vanilla and I think that burns worse for them.

Re: Louisiana Game Time Chat
Other than the one trick play we did not feed the TE or Sutton heavily. It seemed like we used about 40% of our playbook. I'm sure the coaches are saving some for South Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Troy.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 12:28 amGo read the Ragin Pagin board game thread. I really don't think we were holding back any pages from the playbook. Their defense was just damn good. Also, their punting really helped their D play with confidence. But we found a way to get the W. That one trick was the worst thing I have ever seen.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 12:48 amOther than the one trick play we did not feed the TE or Sutton heavily. Again, I didn’t disagree with the calls we got, I just felt they could have gone either way. The 4th down play with Hennigan getting the first could have easily been spotted short of the first down. And late in games refs can sometimes not call things like the PI call Sutton drew. I think both calls were correct but they could have easily gone against us. I agree that we had the better team and better coaching.

Re: Louisiana Game Time Chat
Obviously Drink was respecting their defense, but if the ESPN coverage of the field wasn't so bad, you would've seen all of the easy one on one's and underneaths that were there all game. Our guys win those match ups majority of the time. It was a completely different style of playcalling for Drink, probably one that I prefer not see again. This dude is definitely playing chess, but sometimes in chess, a good player can try some different things to just see if they can do it.sixtoes9134 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:17 amI really don't think we were holding back any pages from the playbook. I’m happy we won but felt going into this game we would need to dominate them to impress voters. We simply couldn’t, so in my opinion we won’t get the votes. Probably going to take beating South Carolina at this point or lots of help. Just my OPINION, could be wrong.MountainMan2020 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:19 pmHow about SMU’s win over Tulsa? Minnesota’s win over GaSouthern? A win is a win. And defense counts as well. I am much happier with a 17-7 win relative to 54-47. No question our offense can and will score. But the defense made a statement tonight!

We were considered underdogs, we won and we more than covered. We will jump into top 25, but unfortunately a single loss after that will bounce us.

we gained votes on a bye-week, we will move up with 5-0.Apptrain wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:06 amI’m happy we won but felt going into this game we would need to dominate them to impress voters. If we hadn’t of played the second half, it would’ve been a tie.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 10:56 pmIf it weren’t for the 17 points we scored, UL would have won.
If their running backs could just break through, they could’ve won. #15 apparently had never been stopped for a loss, until he met App State.
Funny how great their whole team was, quote “We are better across the board...blah blah blah” but the on their QB is terrible, Napier is terrible, their OLine got bested, Zac carried us (even though Lamb is better than Zac).

No offense to T. Lamb, but Zac is so much better. This is the weirdest take on our team that they could keep droning on about over there on Ragin Pagin.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:38 amIf we hadn’t of played the second half, it would’ve been a tie.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 10:56 pmIf it weren’t for the 17 points we scored, UL would have won.

Re: Louisiana Game Time Chat
The ESPN guys kept talking about Napier's use of analytics. Does he really rely on those that much in situational game play-calling? I would think the stats would be a useful input but football is so much about momentum, emotions, and whether you can trust your players in certain situations to execute.

When was the last time we started out 5-0? Is there an accessible way to find stats like that without pouring through old schedules?

Re: Louisiana Game Time Chat
LOL one of the posters on my LSU board said at first glimpse he thought it was LSU. And no way that was coincidental. They all said every time the announcers called them Louisiana (vs UL Lafayette), it made them pull for us more.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 7:40 pmMy brother asked me if we dressed like LSU to piss off the Cajuns
