My point was we have not played any one with a losing record yet(when we played them). You can't say this about previous years and although we have not played anyone in the top 25 Carolina, Coastal, Louisiana and even Monroe are pretty good competition.

Why are people saying we have a week schedule. I can't remember another year where at this point everyone we beat had a winning record (or 500 record). No losers on our schedule.

ETSU 0-0
Charlotte 1-0
Carolina 2-1
Coastal 3-1
Louisiana 4-1
Louisiana Monroe 3-3

ETSU is 2-4.

Charlotte is 1-4
etc
I think what 77 is trying to show is the records of each school at the time we played them. Thus, ETSU was 0-0 since it was Game 1, UNCC was 1-0 when we played, Carolina 2-1, so on and so forth. Not really sure that means a whole lot in the grand scheme of things but it is kind of interesting that we've yet to play a team with a losing record at the time of our meeting. Of course, that will all change when we travel to Mobile next week to play USA.

Do just enough to win and then shift the focus to the next game.
If we truly want to climb we need to beat the spread. We need wins that voters won't just leapfrog others over us for. We need something like 42-13 or 35-0, 38-7, etc. so voters will feel more confident in moving us up.

I say this because of the comments made by this AP voter when he posted his ballot today.

https://www.ksl.com/article/46654958/jo ... -in-top-10

Win big like Baylor or SMU? Baylor scraped by on a blown call (and moved up four spots) and SMU didn’t even play (but moved up two spots). Those are two very weak top 20 resumes. Margin of victory and style points might help, but not a prerequisite. Just win baby.
Baylor is a P5 team with chances against ranked teams coming up. That is not a good comparison.

SMU has a better SOS than us because there are 4 others (Temple, Tulane, UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis) all ranked or receiving votes. They just need to win in their league.

We are very different. No other team ranked or receiving votes. South Carolina is the only game we have left that we just need to win. We beat ULL by 10 points and I think they are the best team besides us in the SBC.

We don't have the SOS the others have for us to just be happy with 3-5 point wins every week.

Caught some of the radio show out of Raleigh this morning. They were talking to some guy who specifically works for and follows SEC football. A take on LSU is that they might not necessarily care how their defense plays. Basically if in every game they just hold serve and win many folks are fine with it. If an opponent slips up on one possession it could be over for them. Not really the most popular view, especially with many of our folks but bottom line as long as you outscore the other guy a win is a win.

If you go back and look at the play Malik Williams caught the pass on 4th down on the last drive for a 1st Victor Johnson should have been called for holding.............

Talking about SOS...... here we rank 72, but higher than Boise, Memphis, Minnesota, Temple & Wake. Just below SMU.

Refs were letting the tackles on both teams regularly get away with pretty blatant holds Wednesday night.

LOL. He's still rotating that Mountain Dew label to the front everytime he takes a sip.

He did a good job of explaining how good of a defense UL-M has, especially them pushing turnovers. Got me a little skeered. lol
Too, his downplaying the ranking was sensible.

Time for Coach Viator to learn a lesson on how to pronounce Appalachian. Hope we can take them to the wood shed.

I remember when Coach Viator came up here with McNeese State and ruined a perfectly good house warming party.....

He mentions their backup RB is the most questionable to play with injury.

Also it is hard to get to Boone...

Why do coaches say it is hard to get to Boone? Softies! Fly into Hickory or Charlotte and Bus up. Suck it up butter cups.
