D. Harrington out for the year?!?

Unread post by appstate24 » Tue Oct 15, 2019 9:17 pm

I just saw on Instagram that Daetrich Harrington is having surgery tomorrow. Also says he will be out for the rest of the season. This is the first I’ve heard of this. Did I miss something?

Daetrich was having a killer year, and showing a lot of promise. I hate it for him, and hope he comes back stronger than ever.

The decision to move Raykwon Anderson to RB, and not redshirt him makes more sense now.

Prayers up for Daetrich. GO APPS!!

I hope not. He missed last year also and was doing great! If this is true, I hate it for him.

Really does suck and we are getting thinner at RB.

Not good, just saw the same thing. Our deepest position is getting thin

This is a surprise to me. Didn’t notice him get hurt. Wonder if it is his knee again or what?
The loss of him and People’s is a huge one, especially considering how stacked we thought we were in that position.

Man this is out of left field! Really a tough loss. Who is the freshman back we brought in for a few snaps? Do we have enough younger guys to rotate enough yet save some shirts? We can’t run Evans into the ground

Now we know why Anderson has been moved to RB. Hate that for Daetrich. Wish him a speedy recovery!!!

I think the freshman is Raykwon Anderson, #22. Coach Drink made mention in his weekly press conference that he will play Raykwon the rest of the season.

Wasn't there also that speedy transfer from Campbell? Can't recall his name.

In addition to next man up, now is probably a good time to open up that play book.

Nakendrick Clark? from Louisburg College? Man there aren't many guys left at all listed as running back.

Anderson and Harrington both played at RB in the last game, so presumably Anderson's position move was not caused by Harrington's injury.

Marcus Williams is a solid #2. I always considered him and Harrington to be equal and I actually thought they were "co-backups" on the depth chart. Still, it does hurt to lose that depth. Zac was just talking about Anderson's route running being great for a freshman and nothing was said on Mountaineer talk about moving him to RB. Has there been some indication that will be a full time switch or just that he will be used some in that capacity?

We have a solid 1 and 2 with a transfer junior whom I assume has skills or we wouldn't have taken him. Our young guys might get some reps that will pay off down the road when this year's junior class graduates.

I wouldn't mind seeing us use one of our TEs who isn't getting reps as a big body RB on short yardage.

Get well, Harrington! Hope you come back stronger than ever!

Good point on the Tight Ends. You would think that one of those guys could transition to running back for some simple plays.

We have another freshman and a sophomore listed at RB as well, I don't know much about them though.

Raykwon I believe. He also came in on a critical 4th and 10 on that soul crushing drive against Louisiana and caught a beautiful low pass for 11 yards to extend the drive.

We have enough running backs or people that can play running back. Our O line is the best around and could make me look like an all-star running back.

correction I believe that might have been Miller not Harrington.
