** FRIDAY UPDATE*** APP STATE / ULM WEATHER TRENDS
Posted: Wed Oct 16, 2019 11:13 am
*** FRIDAY PM ***
Well, a layered approach to game time temps will be needed. Doubt we'll break free of the mid 50s for the afternoon. Once some patchy light rain starts, near the end of the 1st Q or start of the 2nd Q, it can get a bit raw as temperatures will drop a bit.
Optics, on the positive spin, those folks from down AL way are in for a cold awakening. Mix that with some light rain / or rain, it's going to be advantage Mountaineers I would thing.
Wish this damn quasi tropical system hadn't spun up, but, it is what it is... and we Mountaineer fans will endure. No lighting this game, so no weather delays are expected.
See ya in the stands!
GO MOUNTAINEERS!

***THURS PM UPDATED****
Thursday PM WX UPDATE: Timing shift for the potential rain. Yeah bring the rain gear. Looks like late first quarter'ish. Light rain, drizzle perhaps. Still not convinced we'll see much of it. Heaviest rain will be well east in Eastern NC. I'll gander again Friday AM.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE ****
Phone apps are screaming about RAin rAIN RAIN for Saturday. Understand, the phone apps pull from 1 raw model data set and you will see swings with these every 6 hours.
The issue with the forecast change has to do with a possible tropical / sub-tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. There are questions about the track, speed and intensity of the yet to fully develop system. Hence, the changing of the weather apps output on phones.
Rain appears possible, but, as of this note, SATURDAY NIGHT. Game day, and the game, all appear dry as of my model(s) review this morning. Rain does not appear to be an issue until well after the game. Can there be a shift in timing? Yes. So, I'll keep monitoring from the mobile -WXCRUM weather office as it moves to Seven Devils tonight.
Just know, if rain becomes a concern for the game, I'll be getting soaked in the stands along with you all; I don't think we'll have an issue during the game however. We'll see. Pack the rain gear just to be prepared if there is a shift.

TUESDAY - Orig Post
Everything points to a great football Saturday at The ROCK! APPsolutely come on up, and enjoy. Cold crisp morning will give way to cool and comfortable temperatures for the game. Bit of a chill will be in the air by halftime and at the end of the game.
Fall colors should be at, or just near, peak; such as they will be given the hot and dry Summer.
Come on home ya'll! Great time of year to visit!
