We don't need anymore backfield injuries, or we may be watching it on TV.
App has almost always had a back-up running back to fill the void. I doubt this year is any different.

I'm roughly Duck's size (Clifton, not the ones in the pond), but I seem to be lacking his panache. I'll gladly suit up, but if it comes to the point that I need to be in the game, then I hope that WVApp is ready to defend me as a player, because the attacks from this board will be coming from all sides.

6'1", 240, with full eligibility. May have lost a step or 3 in the last 35 years but I'm game.

As fun as this is, most of don't have any eligibility left at App, sorry to say. 5 to play 4 beginning 1 year after high school graduation if I understand correctly. But hey, why don't we arrange an alumni game for championship weekend? The Yosef's Cabin Bowl. Firemoose will have to make sure plenty of emergency medical personnel are on hand. Start stretching now folks.

Don't think this is true, look at all the late 20's Australian punters and the handful of military veterans that are closer to 30 than 20.goapps93 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 7:52 amAs fun as this is, most of don't have any eligibility left at App, sorry to say. 5 to play 4 beginning 1 year after high school graduation if I understand correctly. Well, I looked it up but didn't read the rule cover to cover. NCAA also issues waivers in special situations, ie medical redshirts(6th year). Military and foreign student waivers also make sense but not 40 yo+ college graduates. Not a big deal though.NavyApp wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 8:09 amDon't think this is true, look at all the late 20's Australian punters and the handful of military veterans that are closer to 30 than 20.goapps93 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 7:52 amAs fun as this is, most of don't have any eligibility left at App, sorry to say. 5 to play 4 beginning 1 year after high school graduation if I understand correctly. I agree with you, I get that none of us are walking out into KBS in uniform but there are plenty of precedents and NCAA waivers are a joke with no rhyme or reason to them when it comes to their decisions.goapps93 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 8:15 amWell, I looked it up but didn't read the rule cover to cover. Re: SB Championship game
Believe the eligibility issue would be from being in college and not playing, so you use up your eligibility during those years. Maybe some would have a year left if you graduated in 4 years. Some of us had 'extended' drinking, I mean education.
I'd have fun trying to get back over 300lbs, would die, but it would be fun.

How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?... Yeah... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

The peak of my career at cornerback was a garbage time QB sack on the high school JV team. The coach was shocked with good reason.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 8:42 amMe and Bumppo would make for one helluva set of lockdown corners.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 8:28 amHow much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?... Re: SB Championship game
I was just saying that I think App has guys who can fill the void at running back, should there be one. Wasn't discussing wins and losses.John-N-Houston wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:59 pmWe have 5 conf. games left, 3 of which are against GAST, GASO and Troy who each have only one loss! If we should have a hiccup against any one of them and then both teams win out, we would be out of the championship game because they would own the tiebreaker. The only team in the east that is out of it (not mathematically) is Coastal. It’s way too early to assume anything. Stay the course. 1 - 0ericsaid wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 2:27 pmPutting the cart before the horse?Black Saturday wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 2:12 pmI'm sure you've heard the old saying, "Counting our chickens before they hatch"

Re: SB Championship game
Never thought i'd say this but I'm a little worried about the GA State game. If Troy knocks them off this weekend then I'll go back to just worrying about Troy...but if GA state beats them they could be tough when we go down to Atlanta.
Don't understand why they lost to TX State (3OTs), and Furman gave them a scare, but they're looking much improved.
