Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
Shaky game offensively, but ill take a shaky win by 27 points anytime. Defense is getting better week after week.

Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
The offense didn't really flow that well, DE especially seemed to be bottled up all day but the other backs had an easier time and put up big yards.

Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
Did I really just hear this!?!?
Watching ABC (ESPN) ND vs U of M half-time report. They get to App St vs USA highlights and said this of App St:
“Making a push in that Double A C. I just want to see these guys play Memphis. I want to see them against SMU. Who’s really going to run the table in the AAC?”
Yes they did...they really did! Goodness gracious Charlie Brown...what have we got to do to get proper recognition...be ranked in the TOP TWENTY-FIVE?!?!?
In case you’re wondering, it was Mark Sánchez that said it!

Offense has too many weapons to have games like today become the norm. I'm not too worried about the offense, but very happy with what I see from the defense.

Let's just wait for ESPN to tell us what LeBron thinks about our game before we get all upset.John-N-Houston wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 8:44 pmDid I really just hear this!?!?

Does Coach seem slightly bored at some of the questions or does he seem to know what they are going to ask? He looks away as they start a question.

The keyed on DE, and lost, just like ULL.
UT by 20 over the Columbia Cocks.. hope they remain bowl ineligible.
Nobody lost just ahead of us, reckon we stay at 21
Bring on the GumRoots for a beat down we owe them.

I enjoyed him picking his ear hair.
Coach seemed perturbed over the level of offense

Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
I heard it too. Bizarre. I thought he was somehow referring to App as still being I-AA. Whatever it was, it semi incoherent and it wasn’t complimentary to App.John-N-Houston wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 8:44 pmDid I really just hear this!?!?

Clearly Drink is not content with just good. He wants us to be great.
I like his attitude and drive.

Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
I figure a) he's not happy with offensive performance; b) the weather was miserable; c) he wants to get the heck out of dodge and back to Boone and that new baby girl!
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
It looked like Drink closed the playbook a little bit due to the field conditions. Heard that the turf was water-logged real bad, making cuts all-but impossible.
We tried to keep the ball outside the numbers a lot, away from that veteran DLine, and it seemed like the balls were giving both offenses trouble.
The most sluggish offensive performance so far outside of the opener, but the defense is back to the level that it previously was and it's beautiful to watch. A lot better fundamentals on tackles and occasionally going after the ball. September's defense seems like a long time ago.
SoAl's offense was anemic and toothless. They threw one deep pass -- after the game was decided -- and kept everything close, so they didn't trust their QB at all.
Need to work on not falling for hard counts defensively. I bet Southern will work on hard counts. All the other penalties were effort fouls, so I'm not as concerned.
The good thing on offense is that we have 8-9 skill players who could score on any given play. Raykwon was going to get touches even before Daetrich's injury. And at least we now have two games of bad weather experience just in case Halloween is a wash.

Re: App vs S Alabama Post Game Thoughts
Defense ruled the game. Offensively we were slow to start, but things fell into place. Wish we could have put up more against USA. As another user stated, I would find it hard to get hype in front of a crowd of 500.
GO! FIGHT! KICK ASS!
