I watched the South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt game last night. The big WR #89 Edwards is the real deal. Hope we can limit his impact. They sure like to go to him in the clutch. The RB (Clemson transfer) Feaster seems to run hard. What are the other potential mismatches? Go Apps! #beatSC

Edwards is very good. He will play on Sundays for sure. They have a solid RB group as well and their lines are bigger than ours. The mismatches in this game are Edwards vs our DBs and their lines vs our lines. I think Zac is capable of playing better than their QB though and we are just as good in the back 7 as they are. Both teams have speed in the back end.

My gut tells me SC wins by 10 or so but a lot depends on our strategy. I think we can win this game but it comes down to mistakes, coaching, and execution. Neither team is so superior to the other that there is no chance for one of the teams. I am hoping for a good game. This is a big one for us. It can definitely take the sting out of a loss last week.

If we can scheme to get to the QB...will keep us in the game.

I'm debating if we should blitz the heck out of him because they do have talented skill players or if we should spy him and play zone and make him run or have to make tough throws.

I would like to get to him though. They are already hurting for depth at QB. A couple good hits to take him out and then South Carolina becomes very one dimensional.

Line opened at SC -4. Down to 3.5. Seems fair considering thursday and their home field advantage.

Get 3 points at home. Essentially a pick em. Apparently some of y’all think the seasons over at 7-1 but we’ll bounce back this week. Not seeing 40 MPH winds down in Cola this weekend, so I’ll take the Apps straight up.

We can beat SC but we aren't going to run it down their throats. We will have to have a good game plan to keep them off balance. If we try to run a power game, it's going to be ugly. I can't imagine Coach Drink trying that. He knows the situation. The SC Defensive Line is very good.

If the play calling loosens up, I will too.

An interesting anecdote: app state is 21-0 with more than 1 week to prepare for a game.

Very good stat. I almost hate you said it because it may jinx it now. lol

I wonder what our record is when we have a short week? I'm thinking we are way below .500 when we have 4-5 days to prep.

I know the result of their game against each other, but how does USC compare to UNC? I know the transitive property of college football is bunk, but USC lost to UNC who lost to App. USC also lost by 20 to Tennessee and Missouri. I’m thinking this is very winnable.

I think a lot in this game will have to do with motivation. If they feel a lot of pride in who they are and are determined a g5 isn’t coming in their house and beating them then they may skull drag us as someone else stated. If we put the GS debacle behind us and play with the intensity we did at UNC we have a shot. I truly don’t have any idea what to expect. I’ve only watched a little of them against the Dawgs. I think anything from them skull dragging us to us winning a really close one.

I get it. I was frustrated during the game on some first down play calls but we still averaged 5 yards a run. I get the whole can’t make excuses mantra, but i just think the wind affected the offense more than we are caring to take note of. Sloan knew he could pack the box with 8 just because of the wind. Saw a lot (6?) of drops from usually surehanded guys and i can’t help but think it’s because they had essentially knuckleballs coming their way. I think we’ll look a lot closer to what we saw against UNC on Saturday than GASOU. And yes, we still should have figured out a way to win that one.

Very comparable, I think. Sagarin would make SC about a 2 point favorite over UNC right now. Not gospel or anything, but that seems reasonable to me.

I think you make their QB beat us throwing the ball. Rush him with the purpose of keeping contain and minimizing running lanes. Keep everything in front of you and make them sustain long drives.

On offense, they are a team we should be able to run against. Hope our OL is up to the task.

USC is bigger and slower than UNC. This can't be a smash mouth kind of game from us, we need to spread them out and attack. Sutton and Virg can be big impact guys if Drink can feature them for once. If we just try to dink and dunk with Henni and Malik, we will have a lot of stalled drives

I think our corners need to play tighter, will need to cover the bubble screens and quick hits.
