Post-App State hangover

Unread post by EastHallApp » Tue Nov 12, 2019 10:32 am

No, I'm not talking about the ones from Sunday morning in Columbia. Here are the results in the next game for every Sun Belt team that has beaten App since 2016:

2016 Troy: lost to Arkansas State 35-3
2017 ULM: lost to Auburn 42-14 (OK, but then lost to A-State 67-50)
2018 GS: lost to UL-Monroe 44-25
2019 GS: lost to Troy 49-28

Maybe we're the ones who are actually everyone's "Super Bowl."

I was thinking about this also, especially where GS is concerned. Yes, we have to listen to another year of GS squawking about beating us and I absolutely HATE that, but their ability to brag seems greatly diminished by their inability to follow up the win with any type of consistent performance. Championship teams have bad games but they don't STAY down. GS is playing like a spoiler instead of like champions.

Southern runs a an offense that once the defense figures it out it can be stopped, then if you put points on them they are done. Like Troy, and UL. They lose one more before this is over with. Im think Arkansas State will get them. Heck ULM might get them also. No bad weather and throw in some of the injuries they have now and who knows.

It is like my brother said to me the other day, "Georgia Southern plays like they have a 1 game season now and it is against us."

That is along the same lines as what I told my buddy last week. I get that it is a rivalry but it's like they get so riled up (I'm not sure if it's their HC starting this or just the big time game in general) it's as if they forget that they have conference games to play after the game with App.
