I'm waiting on someone to cash in on a t-shirt design for "King of the Carolinas in 2019". I'm sure they can sell a few ;)

Does anyone know the last team to beat UNC-CH and S. Carolina in the same season?
Clemson did it in 2015 in back to back weeks.

Ok APP nation, both these wins are huge. So here is a question, which win means more?
Hindsight being 20/20, neither. App shouldve been favored to win this game given the injuries USC was dealing with. Vegas was playing the public response and not the rational pick here. App had 202 yards of total offense. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any other G5 over a P5 where the G5 had only 202 yards of total offense.

UNC was a big deal because it was an in state game, despite Wake being better in 2017, because it's the flagship. USC is going to buy out their return trip because they have the state legislature on their side. They were beat by The Citadel in recent history.

As low as UNC has gone, they've not lost to an FCS program.
I believe Furman beat UNC years ago.

Clemson last year? Now, you might have to go back a few years to have a team beat both in Keenan and Williams-Brice in the same year, given the schedule rotation.

As an SC native, USC means more to me, personally, but I think the really special thing is having them both in the same year. The difference between 1-1 and 2-0 isn’t additive, it’s multiplicative.

For a guy who lives in Charleston both wins mean the same to me. I was born and raised in NC I’m sick of the little brother talk of UNC, but living here all you hear about is dang gamecocks. They’re the NC state fans of South Carolina, they won’t let you ignore them and they celebrate mediocrity

The Mountaineers are the first team to win road games at North Carolina and South Carolina in the same season since Clemson in 1991.

UNC because of what it means outside of sports, but kicking SC while they are down is a great validation win.

For App fans, the UNC win probably means more due to it being in state and having to deal with UNC’s insufferable elitism year after year.

For college football overall, the USC win means more because its SEC, because they recently beat Georgia, and because it validates our earlier P5 win.

Furman blew UNCs doors off a while back

If you are talking about our state then it is UNC because of what folks are saying. In-state rival game. However, national perception is that South Carolina is much better. Two reasons. It is on the road in SEC and South Carolina, supposedly, has much better recruiting classes than UNC. Many felt that UNC game was a fluke for them and they should have won. Honestly, SC should have beat them in Charlotte. They outplayed them all game long and gave it away at the end.

I’m not a UNC hater, but I think that one felt bigger partly because it was in-state but mostly because we finally got over the hump after so many near-misses vs. P5s. And also it was a pretty amazing game.

Last night was great, but I was almost more relieved than thrilled at the end because of how the game went, and because I thought we were the better team coming in.

Also, I know having SEC painted on your field is supposed to automatically make you an elite team, but I think UNC is as good as or better than South Carolina.

In terms of in state recruiting and NC bragging rights UNC was bigger. In terms of power 5 conference win USC was bigger. SEC is bigger then ACC.

My friend made a sign for the game that "App is here to Tar and Feather the Carolinas". Clever.

In a couple of weeks the answer to that trivia question will be Clemson.

I’m 68 years old. Born and raised in N.C. Grew up in Charlotte. Had Carolina force fed to me, journalistically, all my life. For many years I just hated N Carolina from a spots perspective but the last 10-20 that HATE has spilled over to the “political “ realm. And now, with the cheating, into the social arena! Been waiting all my adult life to be beat N Carolina and then to beat them at home on TV , well it’s like eating grits for breakfast: real good! S Carolina just validated the NC win! But beating “Directional” schools that Worship chickens and sheep really is nice!!!!!

I think the bigger game was USC. The reason the UNC game might have felt bigger (outside of the non-athletics resentment we hold towards them) was because it was the first since Michigan, it got the proverbial monkey off our back.

I think for the program (and me personally) beating an SEC team in and SEC stadium on national television is WAYYY bigger than beating UNC. This does just as much for recruiting as the UNC game did. There are no other real recruiting obstacles for us in SC than Scar and some 3 star Clemson recruits. I think I saw a stat when I rewatched the game last night where 58% of our team is from NC and SC.

What a year its been, this makes the Stink loss sting that much more but everything is in front us. Lets go 1-0 this week!
