I know there in the midst of a season from hell but damn they were leaving suuuuper early. Little to no noise from them outside of “Sandstorm” Most of the noise from my seats was groaning about play calling.

For a Football school that was a terrible atmosphere IMO

They abandoned ship early in the third when the game was still relatively close. We definitely dominated the game and it was cold (or so it appeared from the press box :)). There were a few Cocks in the press box that were trying to stir it up with my group, but they even left later in the 4th.

The entire section beside their band was virtually empty in the third quarter. Told my son that I couldn’t believe that they were leaving down 20-9. There was plenty of time but I guess they saw the writing on the wall.

I was impressed with the initial turnout for the game giving the mediocre season they are having and just playing a lowly g5. But I was not impressed with the early exit. They missed an exciting finish. I don’t think they could stomach facing us with a loss which they seemed to think was certain. Probably would not have left against other SEC competition.

I thought the turnout for the game was surprising considering they aren’t having a good season and it was a non-SEC opponent.

I did like how the Sandstorm thing got their crowd fired up, and wish we could find something like that at our home field to get everyone energized and going. I did find it funny that the folks seated around us said they were waving white flags of surrender.

All of the USC fans we interacted with were very nice and welcoming. We went out for a late dinner downtown after the game and all of their fans we met complimented our team and were amazed by the number of our fans that traveled.

I'm thinking they've mailed it in for the season.

We had an awesome something that we did for years which was great- Bugler's Dream. We did it on the kickoffs with the band. I guess it died.

I had no issues at all with the USC fans, gracious folks. The stadium would have been at least 25% empty without us. The left early because even if they came back an won it wasn’t going to be what the wanted or expected. The only acceptable thing for them would have been a blow out victory and it became obvious pretty early on that that wasn’t going to happen.

How about “Blue Ridge Mountain Sky” by the Marshall Tucker Band. Not quite as up tempo as sandstorm but the lyrics fit app quite well:
“It’s a lonesome feeling in my mind, and A feeling I can’t leave behind
Carolina’s where I’m at and I’ll always hang my hang
Under those blue ridge mountain skys”

I guess it would be more like Country Roads at WVU. I also liked when we played Dueling Banjos before the Miami game and it seemed like all the players did too, even the U.

The fans left early. The sandstorm was awesome, I must admit I loved the lack of piped in music every play. We have such good fans. We don’t need that gimmick anymore

Their band was great. The fact that they played throughout the game, with very little piped in music was even better. Their halftime show was phenomenal.

Believe it or not, their fans thought it was a frigid night for football (they would have never made it into the stadium on Halloween night in Boone). I think a lot of fans jettisoned their seats to go back to their tailgates with their propane heaters to watch he game on TV. The exodus of their students was really disappointing.

How would one go about getting a pic from their phone to this board? I was sitting opposite the App section and have a pretty good shot of our fans on that 4th quarter drive. Also have a pano post victory

Overall USC fans weren't bad. As I was going to my seat we started a APP STATE chant and I had a USC fan come up to me and tell me to stop yelling and chill out which I thought was funny and a family asked my group if we planned to sit down ever. lol but overall not too bad

To be fair, our fans leave at halftime whether we're up 3 or 30 or down 7. We really don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to the leaving early topic.

Their fans are all over Twitter saying that our fans were rude. I dont believe that for a second.

A lot of anger and sore feelings. We'd do the same thing if a visiting team took over our stadium, won and chanted the entire time. Glad that (hopefully) will never happen.

My Lyft driver on the way over told me she starts picking up students after halftime because that's when they normally start bailing to beat traffic. And if you can't trust your driver, who can you believe?

As far as our fans being rude, we had however many thousand there; I'm sure a certain number of them were jerks (I might have seen a couple) and they're the ones who get noticed. Now if people are getting mad because we were chanting over them or whatever, then yeah, sorry not sorry.

Thats what P5 do. The bands play and not that piped in crap. Maybe as our program grows we will mature also.
