Those SEC refs

These jokers were pitiful. Tried their best to aid the home team whenever possible. It was unbelievable in person and I heard it sounded just as bad on TV.

They loved them some offsetting penalties, which is an easy out to certain situations.

The whole crew wanted that game to last past midnight. Took their sweet time discussions every penalty and the head ref over-explained everything.

I miss the Sun Belt refs.

I have never in my life seen officials actively and openly attempt to change the outcome of the game quite like last night.

The one call where they changed the spot on the third down call was unreal. How in the hell do you watch the video and move the ball back only 6”? Lots of over explaining I agree. Lots of ridiculous unsportsmanlike calls (offsetting every time). The first time our guy got hit out of bounds the line judge never even turned his head. A minute later we bump their guy on the other side and the flag flew. They actually had a long conversation on the last holding penalty and made sure there was no 10 second runoff on the Cocks prior to that.

Those clowns made So Con refs look good.

It sure looked like home cookin' to me. Some of the calls/no calls were atrocious, and there was little consistency.

When the announcers start talking about the refs then things are bad.

On reddit a SC fan mentioned this was the best crew they had all season. The SC fan mentioned they are generally worse.

The low and late hit on Thomas that was a no-call was atrocious too. The no calls were bad enough, but coupled with the every ticky-tac call they called on us were ridiculous.

As I was watching the first half in particular, I was thinking how many more dirty hits SC would be allowed to get away with before we just pull our guys off the field and go home. So thankful none of our guys were injured (fingers crossed) but can you imagine if we lost Zac or Evans bc of the refs negligence?

Didn’t put two and two together, but we sat beside each other last night, appreciated your insight on the game, great experience.

Diarssouba and Collin Reed look like they got pretty banged up. I would be surprised if either of them will be available Saturday. Hopefully they will.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

I've got a lot of friends who are UGA and Auburn fans and every Saturday evening Facebook seems to erupt with tangents about the SEC officiating.

Doesn’t the SEC and Sunbelt share the same head of officiating

I was pretty sure Reed came back into the game.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist so I won’t speculate to motivation. But at least in person, it seemed shockingly one-sided. Looking forward to watching my recording of the game to see how that looks, but I also heard the same from people watching on TV.

I expect it when we go into a P5 stadium.Last night they really delivered. Reminded me of our game at NCSU back about 1980. It was literally stolen from us. Since that time I have come to believe that the crew has a vested financial interest in the outcome. They work for the conference, which means they work for the members of the conference and they want that to continue. Perhaps I’ve grown cynical but I have seen it time and time again.

Not the ones from The Gum Root game.

Tired of being screwed by the refs every week.
