I hope the stadium side seating comes out significantly from the structure. As it is now its way to far away from the field.

I trust there is a good reason but the distance from the endzone has irked me from the beginning.

Who enjoys seeing a receiver catch (or not) a pass and then disappear in the bushes? Seems like a sure way to be injured to me. I believe the scale of the project will change the perception of the distance from the back of the end zone to the new fieldhouse. Time will tell, but I think it will look proportional once the structure is up.

You know, I assumed that where the stairs have been put in place, that was going to be an elevator. At this point, i'm not sure where one (or more) will be).

I think he's joking, in reference to the phrase "take the stairs" that some in the athletic dept use as a motivational tool. At least that's my interpretation.

Looks great and it seems they are just about done with the steel framing! Hoping it will be all done in two weeks for the championship game so I can get a good look in person.

One question, will there be a bottom stadium seating area below the box seats (ie entrance from second level) as it shows in the renderings on the building physical infrastructure site? It says they are going (hoping) to open floors 1 and 4 by the start of next season while 2 and 3 will open by the end of 2020.

I might have read that seating could be put there in the future but was wondering why they wouldn’t put them in now?

I see some lighter colored metal "platforms" with railings on the top in the middle. They look like they could be for a TV camera given the position.

Easy answer, yes an area will exist for cameras to be set-up for filming and tv.

I’m not looking for it to be anything like the hedge at SC. That’s just stupid. Really can’t understand why they would have anything that close to the playing field. Looks to me like the seating needs to come out 30 or 40 feet and it probably will. We had a lot of space between the old field house and the back of the end zone.

Never said that or presumed to know your thoughts. My point was that I would err on the side of safety for our student athletes. And, as stated before, I think it will look proportional once the structure is up. I keep looking at the drawing on MountaineerImpact and one can get a good idea of how far the seats will stick out past the rest of the building. I think it will be closer than the old field house was - about half way into where the track lanes were.

Everyone needs to check out the Endzome Cam right now! We have the first girders for the NEZ club seats going in now...being attached to the 4th floor steel as we speak! With this we can start to get a real idea of how close to the field the seats will get.

DPR is the GC in charge of the end zone project. Choate is doing the dorms...

Who was it that placed the static cameras on the dorm/old stadium lot site? The parking deck has long been finished. Would there be a way to move that camera elsewhere? When the season is over could it be pointed at the back side of the NEZ construction?
