That's a real competitor, he has been so much for that program. I hope he is able to make it through the game.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
Headline on Sunday: Georgia State's Ellington out for rest of season with ACL injury.
I know it's a big game, but that's smoking next to a gas tank.

Not a fan of a player going out there injured but I agree that I hope he doesn’t make it worse. Glad he is ready to go. I’m sure we have prepared for him to play.

Think it's safe to say they will be ready to play, going to be a lot of emotion on that side. We are going to have to match it, this should be an exciting game.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
If this is true, Elliott is a snake. He is selling out the health of his qb to try and beat us. Really bad idea

Sometimes coaches need to save players from themselves. This seems to be one of those times.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
As an athletic trainer I see this: 1) he can't injure it any worse unless he rips one of the other 3 ligaments; 2) it's time to "fish or cut bait" for the SBC championship; 3) the current state of the art ACL braces are pretty darn good so there's that going for him. That being said I'd question his mobility because it won't be 100%. Prepare for him to play as if he's full-strength and then adjust.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

I ask these questions not out of fear, but compassion... What kind of doctor gives this clearance?! Is this even legal, much less humane?!... Finally, how much is a divisional championship really worth?!?! SMH! Oh well, regardless, the blood’s on their hands, not ours...

App Nation must bring the energy tonight to counter this. See you in Atlanta.

Does this not put him at a higher risk of nuking his MCL, LCL, PCL?scatman77 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 12:00 pmAs an athletic trainer I see this: 1) he can't injure it any worse unless he rips one of the other 3 ligaments; 2) it's time to "fish or cut bait" for the SBC championship; 3) the current state of the art ACL braces are pretty darn good so there's that going for him. Possibly but as I stated the ACL braces are pretty darn good; much better than 20 years ago. It's just a chance he's willing to take, I guess.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 12:09 pmDoes this not put him at a higher risk of nuking his MCL, LCL, PCL?scatman77 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 12:00 pmAs an athletic trainer I see this: 1) he can't injure it any worse unless he rips one of the other 3 ligaments; 2) it's time to "fish or cut bait" for the SBC championship; 3) the current state of the art ACL braces are pretty darn good so there's that going for him. Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
See my post in reply to another. He is not the first athlete to play with a torn ACL and a brace. Granted football is a totally different sport from basketball or baseball or volleyball.booneboy92 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 12:05 pmI ask these questions not out of fear, but compassion... Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
Isn’t the deal with a torn ACL that you can run forward but lateral is the problem? I really don’t think he is going to be nearly enough. Dumb decision. I’m willing to bet this is a ploy to try to mess with our defensive preparations

That’s nothing, Richie Williams won a national Championship with an amputated leg.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
Either the kid is going to play with an ACL tear, not be very good, and risk injuring himself further; or the team was lying about him having a torn ACL, and they’re a bunch of punks.
Either way, App is going to beat the brakes off of them.
