Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
Reminds me of Richie playing in the 05 Natty Game. I do not recall the extent of his injury; may not have been as bad. However remember the effect it had on the team. Elliott may be trying to play a similar hand.

I guarantee you this means nothing to the team. They were going to bring it defensively regardless. Not worries at all.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
Originally it was said to be a sprained right knee. Even playing on a knee sprain from just last weekend is not a smart move. We need to hit him early and keep it up. This tells me either the injury is not as bad as said to be or they have no backup and are desperate. Take Ellington out early and let's find out how good the backup is.

Bring it on. If he truly has a torn ACL, he won't be effective and will be replaced before the 2nd quarter.

He may start but I’m sure we will see their backup get quite a few snaps.

Losing a lot of respect for Elliott. Something tells me the injury isn’t as bad as it has been made out to be, and that this was a decoy to get an advantage.
Either that, or they are taking an incredibly dumb risk. Something tells me it is the former.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
On the other hand, Ellington is a SR, probably not NFL material, and he simply doesn't want it to end like this and feels like he needs to give it a shot.

Hate to say this, but not surprised at all. Elliot’s has been a snake towards App since he went to GSU. I’m willing to bet Ellington tweaked his knee last week, nothing more. This smells just like Elliot’s punk recruiting “tactics” from when Satt was here. Hope we destroy these clowns. GO APPS!!

Not like this is the last game of the season. They are bowl eligible with 2 weeks left to go. If he is truly hurt, why risk a true season ending injury when a week off could get him back to 100% for the rest of the games?

Elliott should probably turn on the TV to the Bama/Miss State game and see what happens when you put your already-injured QB in a game. Tua's getting carted off with a hip injury now.

He is a competitor, coaching intrigue or player motivation. It is what it is. Hope the guy/coach not risking the kid permanent damage. Looking forward to tonight. Wish I could be there.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
A lot of it is that he is upset for making some bad decisions. He went from turning down App because he thought he would be the next HC at South Carolina to now being at Georgia State. If it were not for him being so close with Charlie Cobb he would have landed as an OL coach in the SBC or in SEC. I want to take it to any coach who played at App that coaches against us but I especially want to take it to Shawn. He has shown some dirty tactics in recruiting that you would expect he would not do when it came to recruiting against us. I hope we beat him by 30-40 today.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2019 1:11 pmHate to say this, but not surprised at all. Elliot’s has been a snake towards App since he went to GSU. He always looks like a leprechaun whose pot of gold was stolen

Could maybe understand if he was a pure pocket passer. If he can’t run that takes away half of their game.

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
Been there, done that as a teen. Perfectly awful decision. I'd suffered permanent damage to both legs before I was 20.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: Ellington to Play for Ga. State
The issue is not our concern. The docs, trainers, coaches and the kid can decide to play or not. We can't control who they play. Only they know the true situation. We got to play well regardless. It's their baby, let them rock it.
