I think you may be confusing the Lt. Gen. of the Army, who tossed the coin at the start of the game and swore in the platoon of cadets, with the Lt. Col. of the Air Force who was recognized on the field during a time out. ???

As soon as I typed that I was thinking the same b/c the on field TO person graduated around 1988 I think they said. It was late and I figured if that was the case some one correct me, and they did.
