Games of Interest Today
Oklahoma at OSU and Iowa St. at K. State...also UNC @ NC State to see if UNC gets bowl eligible (sorry, but I will be cheering for the Pack today...but it will not matter )...any others?
Depending on what happens, I could see App climbing to 24 or 23 in CFP. Expect Va Tech to drop out but UVA to enter. (At 9-3, I could see UVA as high as 20 or 21). Most interesting will be does Boise drop a spot or two after close game to 4-7 team and will App be ahead of Cincy.
Still a lot to play for, but Kudos to one of the best regular seasons in program history.

Re: Games of Interest Today
Think you’ve about covered it. We don’t want A&M upsetting LSU or they’d probably jump us. I guess we can always hope for South Carolina to pull another shocker...
ETA: I guess if we really want to play some chess, root for Army over Hawaii to make Boise’s next opponent look as bad as possible. And of course we want ULL to hammer ULM.

Re: Games of Interest Today
I want all these guys to lose:
Iowa State 74, Texas A&M 27, Air Force 22, SMU 9, Arizona State 4.
With the hope that the Cajuns eek their way up to 25 in the AP Poll.

Re: Games of Interest Today
I am pulling for ULL to win as much as you but I don't think they will be ranked nor should they be. Kansas State would take the votes of Iowa State if they won. Remember to look at who people are playing. If a team is ranked 21-27 range but they are playing a P5 team with a winning record then the team they lose to will take votes. VT losing helps us some but UVA winning is going to watch them close the gap on us big time.
Other than we want ULL to be ranked because it helps us there is not really a reason to rank them. They lose to a bad Miss State team and could not beat us at home. I'm happy with them receiving votes for now because it shows some voters are impressed with their scores.
Here is the kicker though. We can't just beat ULL but we need 14+ point margin of victory along with a Boise and Memphis loss next week. I'm pulling for all of that to happen but I know the chance is slim to none. If so it will be a Christmas miracle and I'll be glad to be wrong!!!

Re: Games of Interest Today
Haven’t been watching, but I wonder about their focus tonight. I know it’s a rivalry game (I think?), but otherwise they don’t really have a lot tangible at stake in this one.
Hopefully they pull it out, as I have no doubt we’ll get their best shot either way next week.

It is hard to watch. This UL team shows up in Boone Saturday we blow them out by 30+. Based off this game I don't see us needing to play conservative like last game vs them

They are the same team we beat, we are a better team than we were when we beat them the first time.

Indeed. I indulged on more football this weekend than I did food on thanksgiving.
Only if Boise could have lost....

Boise only beat #103 ranked Colorado State by 7... Hmmm, wonder if they drop?

Re: Games of Interest Today
They should, given what the committee has been doing for us. But I get the feeling Boise gets the benefit of their history and the idea that the MWC is a good conference. I watched the SDSu game and the Army Hawaii game, and it's was brutal.

Re: Games of Interest Today
The problem is that for them to drop, someone has to pass them, and that’s tough when the team right ahead of them and three of the four immediately behind them all lost.

Re: Games of Interest Today
I'm serious when I say this. I think both App and ULL would win the MWC this year. I was not impressed at all. Boise has a great WR, DE, and a couple others but they don't have as many elite G5 players that we do.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 9:03 amThey should, given what the committee has been doing for us. Re: Games of Interest Today
Keep in mind Boise has had a revolving door at QB. Heard a stat that they have 3 qbs that have thrown for at least 300 yards in a game. I agree that I think we would beat them if we played but getting it done with second and third string qbs says a lot about the team.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 2:06 pmI'm serious when I say this. Re: Games of Interest Today
QB is the one position that impresses me greatly about them. They have a DE who is going to be a top 100 draft pick as well. They also have real good receivers and a couple good linemen. They just don't strike me as faster than us.t4pizza wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 2:56 pmKeep in mind Boise has had a revolving door at QB. You could look at our WR corps and say same thing. We had had like 4 guys with 2 TDs or 100 yards in a game and have had different players lead us per game. QB is tougher to do but one thing that makes us stand out is that we have done the same thing at several positions. We have had backups start at S, DL, OL, WR, etc and we have still won games with them.
